Good coffee, lovely cheese scones. Eat inside or outside under the umbrellas, surrounded by the beautiful plants of Palmers Garden Centre. Dog friendly if they are on a leash.

Great place to park the husband with a magazine while browsing through Palmers Garden Centre. Good coffee; excellent date scones. You can even take a well-behaved dog along.

Bring your puppy on a Lead - nice for the mutt. The site is very attractive looking over a goldfish pond and garden plants and away from all street noise. The big breakfast is $20 and is a generous serving - toast (no butter), tomato, nice bacon, onion rings (that's different), poached eggs, hash browns (store brought) and a plain... More

If you enjoy gardening go here , it is Palmers Garden Centre and the cafe is part of it. You don't have to buy plants, just enjoy the fishpond, odd ducks, just really nice surrounds. Good food and coffee, buy specialist flavored teas too.

There's a lot better places in Rotorua to eat than here, but the surroundings are very pleasant set as it is in the Garden centre

The café is in the garden centre and well worth a visit. Table service was pleasant and food choices varied, despite being later in the afternoon. The outdoor area is either amongst the plants or on a sheltered deck area and there's plenty of space.

Description
Even from the outside, Shadehouse Café is very inviting, with it’s gorgeous setting and Redwood Forest backdrop. Casual and welcoming, it is a place where you can really relax and unwind, and enjoy delicious food, all made on-site from the freshest of ingredient. If you enjoy home-style cooking and baking there is a wide selection of favourites and desserts to enjoy with your favourite tea, coffee or iced drink. We open at 9 every day for a relaxed breakfast or lunch. Choose from the extensive blackboard menu. A very special feature of our café is the outdoor area, which is akin to a being out in the country, with ferns and native trees, as we are tucked away in the Palmers Garden Centre. Children are especially catered for, with a special menu just for them.
