Great place for a meal or just a beer. The live music Friday and Saturday and excellent and free. The food is good and plenty of it enough to fill anyone's belly.

Visited tonight with a group of people aged in their 30's and sadly one of our group was pulled aside and asked for proof of her age, being of Asian descent of course she looks younger than the rest of our group. She showed them her Australian drivers licence but apparently they don't accept these even though this is allowed... More

Love Pig & Whistle. The life music is awesome, the beer selection and food is really good to. Definitely a have to go, after a great day in Rotorua for a beer and listen to good music!

Went here with friends on a Friday night. Meals are absolutely massive and taste amazing. The chefs were really onto it and the bar staff were charming. Will return many times

Great little pub for dinner and to catch up on AFL highlights after 2 weeks in NZ! Very busy place but efficiently run and we were told the meal wait would be 35mins before we ordered! Food was tasty and filling. Beers were yummy! Great place for families.

All good for a family dinner during a recent stay. Good choice of menu items and kids meals too. Quality good and size of meals massive so you won't go home hungry. We sat in the tent annex area which was a little noisy . Heaters were on so comfortable though. Try the ribs - the large size could feed... More

Unlike the other reviews my experience at the 'Pig and Whistle' was less than satisfactory. As a celiac it is important I eat GF so when it is offered on the menu I expect to get GF food. When my meal arrived it was loaded with gluten noodles.. not what I ordered. The staff promptly 'replaced' my meal only to... More

Rang up to book in advance only to be told there's lots of room and no need to make a reservation. Get there 15 mins later and they told us they were fully booked and we couldn't be served. Totally disappoint and the man at the door greeting people was absolutely rude and obnoxious! Would not recommend or even attempt... More

Hi MoonChld. We are a walk in restaurant. We dont take bookings - sorry this was not conveyed correctly. Believe it or not this place can fill up in 15 minutes. The man at the door is normally polite and friendly. If we were very busy AND unable to accommodate you, he may have felt somewhat under pressure. Do you... More

If you are looking for a really comfortable venue with excellent pub food The Pig & Whistle is a great choice. It's located in the Rotorua CBD, the decor is gorgeous and the food even better! It's a really comfortable place to sit down and relax with a cider and a snitzel. One of the best meals we had in... More
