Being a local I have been here on many occasions! Always a good atmosphere. Nice and warm through though the colder months, and food is always good! Not to forget the famous pigtail fries! Definitely a must try!

good ambience , expensive beer and food, the large selection of beers and liquor has its price, really only downside is the cost

We went for dinner and drinks, it was so good that we decided to go there again for lunch. The lamb shank is delicious and very reasonably priced. My wife had the fish and chips and was pleased with that as well. The building has a lot of history and charm. We dined beside a fireplace and the whole experience... More

The pig and whistle is located in central Rotorua in what was the original Police station so it's got lots of character, service is good, food great value for money, only challenge is the wait time for meals when they are busy can be upwards of an hour. Other than that well worth a visit

problem with places like this is they are terrific, you just can't call them "excellent" but really...why not? Unique place in an old police station, back "yard" is a sort of permanent tent with heaters, TV's and a wood fireplace. You place your orders at the bar, buy your drinks and take a number back to your table and a... More

The twins were celebrating their 18th birthday and they suggested coming to Pig & Whistle. We had a lovely relaxed dinner and drinks. There was a band playing, There were other party groups having a meal and as it was Friday night there was a dance band coming on later. Large meals, perfect for young people, very generous in size.

We must be getting it right if 18 year olds want to some here. Thought we might be a bit "old" for that age group. Thank you for the review. More

We went on one of their busiest nights, felt well looked after and had great food! We arrived 10 mins to kick off of a test match, got the last table in the place, sadly with now TV view. the waiter said he would try to get us a better table and took our orders. 10 mins later he was... More
