I come here about once a week and buy the $10 lunch special. The fish and chips are delicious and there is also a really great salad. I like the staff down there and will continue to get my lunch there.

Disguised as a fresh fish market a bit further down on Cuba Street, I found incredibly fresh and delicious fish and chips. There are a few tables in front of the fresh fish counter so if the aroma of the raw fish bothers, then carry out as most seemed to be doing there. But for a very reasonable price, I... More

It's a fish and chip bar with no frills. It all looked a bit daunting when trying to work out what fish to order from the huge choice. So I said to the Governor that we just wanted fish and chips for two. He suggested the fish of the day (two ample potions) with a scoop of chips (loads!). Freshly... More

I dropped into this well-known fush & chupps shop to get some protein on my way back to my hotel. The choice of seafood was plentiful. However, picking a premium "fish to fry" was 3 times more expensive than the "average" fish of the day -- which could be hoki or trevally but blue cod or my choice - groper... More

Once again popped in on my visit to Wellington on a dreary Wellington Evening.... Got the best fish and chips in town and was happy again. Great assortment of fresh fish, Oysters etc. Seriously why go anywhere else?

We went to the Lambton Quay shop rather than the Cuba Street one following recommendation on T.A. We had the catch of the day for the fish but you could choose your own for two dollars more. Very reasonably priced deliciously cooked (either battered, crumbled or grilled fish). It looks like a fish shop from the outside but the hippie... More

I used to live opposite the Cuba Street branch but now use the Lambton Quay shop as it is near my office. They offer great fish and chips, freshly cooked. A choice of crumbed, grilled or battered and fried for the fish and ordinary or kumara (sweet potato) for the chips. My partner likes their fish burger. Service is quick... More

I'm in Wellington just for a couple of days and walked into Wellington Seamarket by chance. Stan greeted me with a hearty smile and accommodated my request for grilled squid, despite the fact that they don't have that on the menu. He did such a fine job with the grilled squid, I came back the second day of my trip... More
