Sampled some of their yummy wares at the recent #brightsummernight launch. Absolutely amazing range of deliciousness: antipasto platters, cute veggie filo rosettes, mini quiches.

I've walked past here a lot but usually when it's been closed. Today I dropped in at about 7:30 with my daughter for breakfast. It's cosy and warm on a winter day but the menu was not very exciting. Fairly plain fare which probably suits the mainly govt worker clientele. Being open from 7am is a plus and the decor... More

This is a faced pace cafe serving mostly public servants and they do it well. It's full of conversations ten to the dozen. Food is good. Just one slight improvement flat white's don't require froth.

I wouldn't probably seek Ministry of Food out over and above other cafes as there are far more centrally located cafes which are just as good. However, if you're in the vicinity (near parliament, Old St Pauls, etc) this is a great cafe from which to grab a bite to eat. They have plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating,... More

The staff were conscious of time savings for customers. When the queue got busy, they opened up another register to take orders. The coffees were served quickly and hot. Very nice.

We followed the smell of freshly cooking bacon and were not disappointed. Cameron greeted us and we had bacon, perfect poached eggs, mushrooms on sourdough was brilliant. Big coffees to were excellent. It would be our "local" if we lived in Wellington.

Great coffee & vibe, chilled out atmosphere. Ordered the chicken quesadillas... they were okay, nothing special. Handy to Parliament

Thanks for your feed back and I'm glad you enjoy our coffee. I certainly do. The quesadillas are a big seller as they fill that gap between a sandwich and a main meal. Please try one of our other meals off the menu if you are after something with a bit more oomph. The Beef Rendang is really good, all... More

They could have at least made it look like they did something more than pour food on my plate straight from the package. Their attempt at an elegant presentation for my muesli really highlighted the fact that they poured cereal straight from the box onto 1/3 of my plate, scooped some yogurt onto another 1/3, and some jam onto the... Hi Robert C, I'm really sorry you didn't enjoy our muesli breakfast. We do make the muesli on the premises as we do the fruit compote that goes on it and most of the other food we serve. Please let me know what your expectations are of a muesli dish so we can better understand your concerns. We have been... More

I cannot recommend this cafe enough. It's famous for its cheese rolls, and after trying one I can see why. I also samples from the cabinet of sweet cakes, which were delicious. Coffee was incredible. Good looking lunch menu, and great selection of beers/wines for when it ticks past 5 o'clock... Somewhere.

Busy cafe frequented by government workers in the heart of the beltway. Nice for coffee, lunch or after-work drink. The fresh juices are particularly nice and it's great being able to mix and match the flavours. Lovely and sunny outside at the right time of day. Good service. Some gluten-free options.
