We went down to the restuarant and had drinks and an early evening dinner and enjoyed it throroughly. We had the cheesy wedges and cheesy garlic bread followed by dessert. The dessert was a delicious piece of apple crumble pie with kapiti vanilla ice cream and vanilla creme anglaise custard and it was savoury from the first bite.

We were hungry after long day, had my standard burger and it was real chicken fillet, (a wee bit dry) but the extras were tasty, chips perfect. My colleague had nasi Goreng and it was presented beautifully.

The Steps restaurant at the Travelodge in Wellington is on the 6th floor and has a pleasant ambience for just having a wine or a complete dining experience - the evening I was there it was fairly quiet and only a few tables occupied but the meal was of a high quality. I had 3 courses and wine and all... More

Good but limited menu. Staff, seemingly primed to maximise spend, but not particularly welcoming. Could not complain about the food, but found the restaurant to be rather, "souls," and would only use again if not wishing to "go out," and find alternative choices.

The meal was lovely and reasonably quick even though they were very busy as the military tattoo was on. tTe staff were very helpful cheerful and also had a good sense of humour.

Lovely service, good menu, tasty food, good range of wines and drinks, reasonably ambient setting but no view really, unless you ask for a table overlooking the laneway below to the statue of Plimmer.

We stayed at the hotel for a couple of nights and decided to eat in the restaurant on the first evening as we'd only arrived off the Interislander ferry a short while before. What a good choice with excellent food and very friendly service from our 2 waitresses - can only remember Jessyca's name. The restaurant is bright and spacious... More

I came in with my uncle who was doing a spontaneous visit while on a business trip and a friend of mine. My friend and I are both chefs and my uncle is a self proclaimed foodie that trained as a chef in his younger days. Emmy the waitress was very good to us and made sure that we would... More
