People go there for wine tasting.... People go there for food..... If you are eating there, find a nice spot in their garden overlooking their vineyards and hills. Then order a Seafood Chowder. Their entree portion is like a meal in itself. Sip some of their Pinot Gris along with it. Words cannot describe.

Visiting Wairau Wine Restaurant half way through a wine tasting day tour is just the ticket!! We were taken by Highlight Wine Tours and it was a great place to stop for lunch. You can visit on your own and I would highly recommend you go for lunch. Asian Noodle Salad was extremely tasty and the pavlova to finish off... More

We arrived breathless from a morning at the Omaka Aviation exhibitions to be greeted by the peace and calm of a lovely vineyard setting Whilst we both only had a mains course each and a glass of wine I can confidently say this was a fine restaurant with (as you would expect) a wine list which in the main was... Everyone raved about their food here! I had the mussel chowder and it was the best chowder I've had while in New Zealand. Excellent flavor, perfectly seasoned, I'd order it again in a heartbeat.

A very enjoyable tasting and lunch at this picturesque cellar door. The cellar manager was knowledgeable and keen to ensure we had a great experience. Book ahead though to be sure of lunch.

Super to see such a genuine, family run business doing so well. We had a fantastic tasting experience provided by an extremely friendly and knowledgeable presenter (Virginia), who explained the history of the place and more about the wines we were sampling. Tastings were generous - we sampled eight each! This was followed by a lovely lunch on the lawn... More

Service from the lady poring wine was flawless! The food and service seemed slow however they were busy. The soup was beautiful with fresh bread.

It's a real pleasure eating here. Interesting and varied menu, reasonable pricing, excellent service and one of the most beautiful of all the winery restaurant settings. Having tried them all, Wairau is now established as our top recommendation for visitors to Blenheim in search of a really good winery lunch.

Having previously visited for wine tasting we decided to go for lunch. Had the bread with olive oil followed by Chicken noodle salad with side of fries. The fries must be the best I have ever eaten. Crispy and fluffy they were perfect. The salad was wonderful with moist chicken and a fresh taste. I'm not normally a salad person... More
