Nice atmosphere with friendly staff and very tasty food. Conveniently placed close to the Papanui Road Motels and Merivale.

We chose to eat here because a 10% discount was offered to guests of our hotel. As NZ prices are considerably expensive when compared with the UK, we chose to take advantage of the discount ... a mistake I'm afraid. Having waited some 45 minutes for our food to arrive we were quite disappointed. I ordered Green Bay (Green Lip?)... More

Staying just down the road it was recommended to us. It was good for a pub and the meals were very tasty. My wife had the mussels for entree and the size was one dozen with three crusty pieces of bread, a meal within itself. I had the schnitzel which was cooked well but would have rather some gravy than... More

I was staying just down the road and looking for somewhere for dinner. My partner and I tried this pub as it was very close. The prices are more than I would expect to pay in a suburban pub (I'm from Wellington and a meal in a pub in the CBD is cheaper than here). I had the lambs fry... More

Going out for lunch on days off is our favourite thing to do. We had never been here before so naturally wanted to come check it out. The outside area is nice; situated right beside a pond full of ducks and shrub. NZ pub food is one of my favourites and couldn't pass on the classic burger and fries, which... More

We went here for an afternoon drink and snacks and left disappointed and overcharged for drinks. We ordered 1 beer, 1 chai latte,1 tea and a small chips coming to $31.50. Bloody expensive for what we got and the chai was just a coffee with cinnamon. Would never go back.

This is a Christchurch institution for us. Every year, heading north or south between South Pole and New Zealand, have to stop here for some ostrich steak. One of the better beer selections in the area and the grill are the high points. Sit out in back, come in and order at the bar.

The food is just so good, a great choice, the place is clean and the staff really pleasant, helpful and efficient -... More

What we wanted was good pub food, good wine and beer for an overnight stop in Christchurch. It was all as expected. Pleasant place to eat informally with good service and quality of food.

We had a great dinner , beer and beautiful atmosphere. The table reserved had beautiful pond views. Great service and stone grilled food made it such a lovely experience.
