People who like to taste different type of food this place is highly recommended. The fish and tea salad is really amazing.

Lovely little restaurant, service is always great. Tasty dishes. When we lived over that side of town we would regularly go to Bodhi tree. Something a little different.

When you are tired of relying on Thai and Indian food in New Zealand for vegan meals, there's Burmese in Christchurch! The place appeared to be packed with locals enjoying a nice meal. The eggplant dish was the best, I'd order that again in a heartbeat. We like spicy food and were surprised to find that Burmese food was not... More

Don't miss the opportunity to dine here, food is good, service is good, location is quiet and off the beaten track. Worth the money and the effort!

I had never tried Burmese food before I visited this restaurant. The dining experience here revolves around eating multiple small dishes with rice. There is a large choice of very different flavours including a tea salad made from pickled tea leaves. I was impressed with how nice and how varied the flavours were and I would definately visit again when... More

This is my favourite restaurant. I have been dining there for years and the taste and service never changes. I order the same dishes every-time, and they are decadent.

Visited the Bodhi Tree again this year as we try to at least onve each year & I have to say that the food is as good as ever. It's really good to see a restaurant which keeps up the same standards year on year, even once it's become so popular you have to book early to get in almost... More

Went to the Bodhi Tree with an account and his partner. The last time I visited this place was just before the earthquake and it not in the city centre but in the suburbs. Greeted by Barbara who new my account and what a fantastic place with Burmese food on the menu and the taste of the tea salad and... More

We visit Christchurch each year and always head to this well run, friendly restaurant before anywhere else. All the food is delicious but we especially enjoy the flavours and textures of the salads that others have mentioned - Le Pet Thoke (tea salad), Timbodi Thoke (shredded papaya) - and Pet Thoke, the lightest, tastiest little pork and vegetable dumplings imaginable.... When they say servings are small and you need 2 dishes I thought they were joking but my god yes the dishes are small for the prices you were paying it is definitely a rip off. The marinated fish should be called onions with very thin sliced fish that only took a mouthful to eat. One of our friend's dishes... More
