It's getting a bit sad and the small number of people there at Sunday brunch attested to that. Probably ok for coffee but the menu, food and service could do with a bit of updating if to compete with better options.

Great little cafe in a good lactation in the heart of Invercargill. Food is good and staff friendly...what more can you ask for?

A bit of a local 'institution' - been around for years (so I believe) and a passable place to eat. Interior is probably all original early 1990's - dated - and ultimately could do with an update (of tables and chairs) - but peeking into the kitchen you could see that all was spotless and not dusty or anything. We visited the Zookeepers cafe twice during our stay in Invercargill. The hospitality warm and welcoming on both occasions. The big breakfast was one of the best we have had around the world. Boston beans are well worth the try and the coffee hits the spot! Definitely a must stop for breakfast if in Invercargill.

Have been a few times to this cafe while I have been in Invercargill. Staff are so lovely and welcoming. Food is great and a decent size. Coffee is amazing. Will definitely be going back before I head back home.

Finding a place for breakfast in downtown Invercargill on a Sunday is not easy, so we came here. The shabby chic decor could be a thing, but is more shabby than chic at this point. Service was underwhelming: e.g. the waiter just put four napkins on the table and all cutlery on top of them and left us to distribute.... More

Called in for a breakfast waited well over 40 mins for poached eggs on toast. Food did taste good once we got it. Staff were friendly.

Dropped in to try the coffee. I was very happy with the coffee and they also had on the counter home made cake thingees that were really really good.

My partner and I visited for a late lunch following a visit to the motorcycle museum across the street, and enjoyed an all day breakfast. Friendly and efficient service means we will definitely return on future visits to Invercargill.
