Top quality restaurant. Characteristic location (i.e. a bunker! therefore some darkness comes with it). Chef cuisine. Definitely recommended.

Excellent food with good service. We had the lamb and pork belly and couldn't fault these meals, very good portion sizes - delicious! Highly recommended and will return

I would describe this restaurant as 'cosy and unique'. The bunker has a limited seating capacity, being such a small space, and thus relies on 'turnover' to survive. The walls, and part of the ceiling are wood paneling, along with a small bar section. There is a small fire place in the centre of the restaurant, which added to the... More

My wife took me to Queenstown for my 30th birthday in 2006 and we ate at the bunker then. I remember how we stumbled upon this restaurant and had the most romantic and memorable evening of that trip. When my wife told me she was taking me to Queenstown for my 40th birthday in 2016, I immediately thought, we have... More

Lured by the prospect of the Taste of the South menu we embarked on the initiative test which all guests face: where on earth is the door to Bunker. It's not the old wooden door on Cow Lane, but one just round the corner under stairs to their bar. We passed the test and found ourselves in a small, darkish... More

We stopped by the bar upstairs for cocktails. Had the Mayflower which was excellent. For dinner, we had the appetizer sampler which was a very large serving. We had the duck and lamb and both were excellent. It was pricey but so is everything in Queenstown. Would recommend for a special meal.

We had the best dinner here on Thursday last week, the service was amazing and the food was to die for. The only disappointing part of the evening was a confrontation caused by a couple next to us to which the staff and manager responded with the up most professionalism and courtesy. You don't expect people to behave that way... More

If you are looking for an economy meal then this is not the place for you. The bunker is not cheap, but you do get what you pay for. We had a delicious meal with silver service type service in very nice surroundings with particularly excellent music. Great service. I had duck which was just lovely, my partner had lamb... More

Great food although whole thing served in a quite unnecessarily pretentious atmosphere (not that good)but watch put for wine list. Ordered a €58 bottle of pinot noir €96 bottle flashed in front of our eyes and then taken away. Pretty fed up. Had to pay up in circumstances but this is not what we expect from New Zealand. This mediocre... More

Generally we don't respond to reviews as we believe TA users are savvy enough to make their own judgements on whether reviews are genuine, however when stories are fabricated we feel something must be said. At all times we strive to provide quality food and skilled service in a friendly, welcoming environment. Sir, You ordered Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir which... More
