Being from Lancashire (uk) I'm a big pie fan , so when we heard about this must stop place to get a pie we couldn't resist. The pies weren't bad, we had the steak+cheese pie, plenty filling ( needed some seasoning ) and the Pastry wasn't amazing. Not sure if it's because I'm use to really good quality pies from... More

This little place makes pastries filled with a wide variety of meats and veggies. Delicious! It's basically is a take out place with tables on the sidewalk.

The pies are reasonably priced at $6.50 and they have a varied selection of sweet and savoury. The pies are nice and favourite combinations traditional.

Great selection of home made pies and sweets. Can't go wrong with the creamy chicken :) was nice to sit at the window watching the little birds pick up crumbs from other travellers!

After 4 days walking the Kepler returning to Te Anau we were very keen for a delicious meat pie after hearing such great things. On recommendation we both went for the venison. My first bite revealed a fatty, grisly piece of meat. Unfortunately it didn't improve from there. While the pie was full of venison, it was chewy, the flavor... More

This place is great. Great food and great service. I had the pork belly and it was great. The restaurant from outside doesn't look very attractive but it's always busy and the food very good!

Overall average. Lots of filing but taste very plain. $6.50 for a pie I feel is a little extreme. Fairlie bake house wins in my view.

The chunky steak pies were good but pretty much tasteless. It was weird, as obviously a lot of time had been spent preparing the pastry and filling. The coffee was good. This place only accepts cash if you don't have a NZ eftpos card - which I suspect is about 70% of their customers.

A grabbed a pie to bring for lunch at Luxmore Hut. The pie was still warm when we arrived and was very flavorful. Pies are pre-made and service is fast.

My Partner and I dropped in for a Visit for Breakfast on our way to Milford Sound and Being Pescatarian I ordered the Seafood Pie and my Partner got the Chicken and Bacon Pie. The Pies were sooo delicious we headed back in for Lunch Best Vegetarian Pie I've had. Would highly recommend a visit.
