We had a surprisingly good breakfast and coffee at Bailiez Cafe. The service was friendly and they worked hard getting everything correct with a small amount of staff. It was good place for kids.

Very handy location and at town centre. The steak was well done instead of my ordering medium. The drumsticks were too dry.

I was provided with a drink coupon and used it for a hot drink--good on a rainy, chilly night. I had taken a strpll of nearby eateries and wasn't impressed with what I found, so I went back to Bailiez and had a meal with large, freshly prepared portions. Reasonably priced.

We arrived tired, hungry and keen for a nice meal. We were very pleased to be greeted quickly and supplied with water and menus straight away, even though they were quite busy and we hadn't booked. We chose our meals and relaxed in the comfortable.chairs. We ordered fish and chips and a fish burger. All food arrived quickly, was nicely... More

Visited Sept, nothing much open in Te'Anau and seeing they had quite a few customers, we thought it was a safe bet. We ordered roast chicken, a chicken burger, ribs and cod and chips and all were over cooked. Maybe it was an off night in the kitchen, but we are usually easy to please and we were unimpressed. Service... More

Sit on a lounge around an open fire or choose a table to enjoy your meal. I had lunch and the menu was quite varied: starters, burgers, light or full meals. A full bar is available if required or enjoy a jug of the delicious local water (yes the tap water is delicious), served iced. I had the pan fried... More

The dinner was poor. The steak from the grill was uncooked. It was so bad I could not eat it. When the waitress saw it she said do not pay for that. The fish salad was floating in water. The fish and chips was ok but came fried after grilled was ordered. Would give it a miss.

We stopped here for dinner and were welcomed by a friendly manager and wait staff. The ambience is nothing exceptional but the menu offered many choices, the prices were reasonable, the portions are large and the food was very good. All in all a good experience and would recommend this restaurant.

We happened to stay in Te Anau overnight, and I spotted the sign for $10 Bacon & Eggs the night before. Great, that's where we are going to have breakfast. To be honest, I was not expecting much, basic pub grub in average surroundings. But while the food was basic, they did get my eggs well-done, just the way I... More

We ate here mostly because so few places were open on a Monday night (early Sep). Food was OK but overpriced. My tempura prawns had not been properly shelled which the tempura batter hid until I bit into them.
