It’s convenient to stop in when you need gas from the marina. The establishment needs some updating. Small bathrooms that are clean but don’t really look it. Drinks are not consistent, no bartender, just your waitress who mixes drinks. The food is alright, nothing outstanding...besides the onion rings. Really great home made onion rings. The staff is friendly, but would make more if they came around asking if you wanted anything a little more often. Kitchen seems slow. I keep saying I won’t go back, but it’s an easy spot to grab something after a day on the water.More

This pub has a picture perfect setting right next the the Saint John River. I sat on the deck and enjoyed a beer and some food.

We dock there on Saturday afternoon to have a family diner(4) before us they have a group of 9 arriving at the same time. After 45 min sitting there us and the other group of 9 we left because no ones came to see us...to offer a drink or taking our order. Worst service ever very disappointed if i think about all the potential this place could have.More

I try to support this pub because we live in the area but it’s gotten so bad I am not interested anymore. The staff aren’t professional and they were a bit rude this last time we were in, it didn’t seem like they wanted to...get up from sitting at the bar to take our order. It also smells mold and the washroom appeared to have mold growing under the laminent... it’s too bad because its an awesome place for a little local pub. Also, for being the only customer there this evening, we shouldn’t have gotten a burnt pizza :sMore

This is a nice-looking little place in Gagetown, a tiny touristy village. The food ;was just average. We sat on the deck and did enjoy the views over the hills. Parking is on the main street, bumpy walking but ok. This place could be very...busy in high season. Nice to visit.More

We stopped in off the boat for a late lunch yesterday and we're pleased to find their deck space was dog friendly. Busy spot on a sunny day and our hamburgers were delicious. Friendly service.

I've been to some poor restaurants in my day. But none has been so horrendous as my experience today in The Old Boot Pub. Let me set the scene. When we arrived, there was one harried man serving all the tables, inside and outside. A...young women appeared to be bartending, but mostly simply stood there or chatted with a friend. Playing so loudly it could have impacted bird migration was what I assume must have been called 'Rock's Most Annoying Songs, Volume 2'. It took over 30 minutes to get our drinks. Just the drinks. Another ten minutes before they even took our order. We should have given up and left, but at this point we had invested so much emotionally into the experience that we threw caution to the wind and stayed. The lack of food likely impacted this decision. To pass the time we read the menu. It says something like 'if it's busy, service will take longer than usual. Just enjoy the ambiance!' This is similar to a doctor putting up a sign saying "I don't wash my hands. Just enjoy the gangreen!" Being served is literally the point of restaurants. Telling customers not to expect this does not change that it is the point of restaurants. IT IS LITERALLY THE POINT. As you can see the absurdity was beginning to get to us. Finally the waitress came and asked if we were ready to order. No, we had spent the last 50 minutes staring at the menu, but hadn't made up our minds! I am of course kidding. We were told that many things on the menu were 'out'. It seems about half of the items were not available. Here is what we ordered: A steak sandwich French toast breakfast with bacon Jumbo prawn and scallop skewers with fries (mine) Steak with salad. Here's what we got: A sandwich with a few pieces of thinly sliced roast beef Three little squares of french toast on a plate with bacon A cold steak with a salad with no dressing ("you don't want balsamic or anything with your salad, right?" she asked, as she placed it on the table) Small, previously frozen and undercooked shrimp on a plate with a small amount of fries. While my family ate with grim determination to stave off death by starvation, 1 hour and 15 minutes after we sat down, I had to wait another five minutes as they cooked my shrimp. Little dinky shrimp. It was not good shrimp. Frankly they should have paid us for the meal.More

If you're looking for a place to have lunch and bring your four-legged friend, here it is! They have a patio out back behind the pub where your dog is welcome to join you, and they even provide water bowls. The food isn't spectacular, but...certainly not bad, and the staff is so friendly and accommodating you're guaranteed to have a nice outing.More

You have all kids of seating options inside and outside at this pub with a bar made out of an old boat. Watch the river roll by or enjoy the sunshine on Front Street. Group seating inside or just enjoy a seat at the bar...with a view of the river. It's a small town pub so if you are looking for an Boston Pizza Experience you are in the wrong place. The service is friendly and the owner is usually on site welcoming friends new and old. My wife and I like the fish and chips, battered on site. We have not been disappointed. However the best item in my mind has always been the onion rings. If I started my own restaurant called copycats these Onion Rings would be on the menu. Don't expect McDonalds speed ......enjoy Gagetown COOLMore

Really not recommended! VERY VERY slow unfriendly service - waited 40 min to get cold over-fried food! Smell of urine on the balcony- disgusting! I noticed that people they know were served better and less unfriendly. Not recommended place to eat!

We were in Gagetown for an overnight getaway, and wanted to enjoy all the local businesses we could. Very excited to stop in here, as we were here MANY years ago and really enjoyed it. The place was pretty busy, as excepted for a Friday...night. Waitress came to greet us promptly. Menu was typical pub fare, which we normally enjoy. I ordered nachos. My husband ordered a rum and coke. They offered him a choice of several types of rum. Always a bonus. I asked if they had Guiness. Disappointed that was told no. Asked if they had something similar, was told no. Not really given any choices. Went with a gin and tonic. Was served with a lemon, rather than a lime. Nachos were immensely disappointing. Very small serving for the price. Cheese barely melted and still cold in the centre. A few large chunks of tomato and green peppers, with sliced onion circles thrown on top. Beef chunks were cooked, but cold. There was a live band warming up, to start at 9. Sadly, after two drinks each, we decided to leave. Atmosphere wasn't overly inviting or welcoming. Not the same experience we had all those years ago. Not sure if we would return.More

The village of Gagetown is a wonderful place to visit either by boat or car. We don't have a boat anymore but still like to go for fish and chips and a walk around town.David and Richard have been asked to entertain. We'll definitely go...back this summer to sit on the outside patio and watch the boats.More

I have gone here in the past in 2014 and 2015 and had great service! But today July 20, 2016 I went from a drive from Saint John specifically to eat there as I had loved it in the past and it HAD such a...great atmosphere. Well today that was not the case. Upon arrival, I asked if there were any drink specials in which the girl laughed in my face and said "NO ha we do not have drink specials here". Thats fine I then ask okay what do you have for any white or rose wine? She had no idea of what kinds or the price for the wine.. She could not even pronounce the name of pinot grigio.... Anyways, thats fine I ordered a cooler instead and a water. Water was gone before the meal came and she never once asked to refill it. When I ordered my meal I asked if the sweet potatoes fries are included in the sides that come with the pulled pork meal, she said yes. Well when i get my meal it was a $1.00 more! I specifically asked if there was a charge to this... REALLY???? Food tasted fine but at the end of the day my meal was 23.35 (12 for pulled pork sandwich, 1 extra for the fries and then 7.25 for my cooler!!!! (Asked her to come back and tell me the price before It was brought to me!) Nope this did not happen. I will not be going back again. Please note upon arrival two other tables were full at the pub. A total of 8 guests then us so 10 guest. Upon leaving we were the only ones left not sitting at the bar. She asked once how our meal was and then took 30 minutes after asking us that to even see if we wanted dessert or BILLS. Do not waste your money or time to drive to Gagetown for this. I wish I could say it was amazing. Old owners must have changed or were not working today. It used to be an amazing spot! I wish it still was. Waitress was larger with dark hair and blonde streaks and had tattoos on chest as an FYI.More
