This restaurant at the beginning of October 2016 was nice with attentive staff and good food in the space of 3 weeks the kitchen broke down the staff left and was not replaced. Orders where full of mistakes. Central located with lots of parking on the street. I really hope that this restaurant get back on his feet the chichen... More

I had time for breakfast before a morning meeting in Toowoomba so looked up cafes , Shingle Inn was close and at 7:30 am it was within their opening hours so in I went. The (only) young man serving told me they weren't open. Confused, as I'd just read their website, I asked what time they were open. He said... More

Called in for lunch today to find the place empty. I ordered my lunch the coffee came out promptly alas it was cold some 15 minutes or so passed and still no lunch. I had to ask how much longer was it going to be. Its not like the place was busy the service was terrible food and coffee were... More

Attended this cafe TWICE in the last 2 weeks and both times was extremely disappointed. I have been to this franchise in other areas and the food, service and atmosphere is great. This Shingle Inn is terrible. I was with friends on the first occasion and was genuinely embarrassed. The wraps had burnt bacon, cold chicken and no sauce. When... More

My cinnamon toast was cheap white bread without any cinnamon flavour and my coffee cost me over $5! Very disappointed.

Whilst the other cafes and restaurants were busy the Shingle Inn downtown Toowoomba was very quiet. The decor is dated inside and in need of a make-over. Some items on the menu were not available and the meals arrived without cutlery and napkins. We had a fancy toasted sandwich and the fish and chips special and it was indeed very... More

We visited this venue at Clifford Gardens after doing so me shopping at Coles. This is your typical coffee/cake/ treat place you find in shopping centres. Plenty of seating in the front and rear of the serving area. 2 coffees and some cake were firstly hot and both coffees were very nice indeed. Good friendly service which is something I... More

We came across this cafe by chance a few years ago and now each time we are in Toowoomba we make a point of having lunch here. The home made ravioli is our favourite but I don't see it on the current menu. Children are really well catered for - not just chips and nuggets.

Today we had the High Tea at Shingle Inn. Pity there aren't other places in Toowoomba that serve High Tea for 2. Quite expensive for 2. We had to wait for the cake tray to arrive. The tray wasn't very clean around the edges. Then we waited some considerable time for the the knives, plates and napkins to arrive, eventually... More
