The staff were quite attentive and obliging, unfortunately wait times for service got longer as time passed. Mains were ok , sadly my partners dessert (Chocolate Pudding) was hideously over cooked. We really like the atmosphere but meals were below the usual good standard.

I had an absolute amazing stay, the service and staff were fantastic and the meals were quick out and absolutely amazing. The old convict bricks were looked great and made the layout of the place feel welcoming. Overall a great place to stay and i would recommend it to anyone.

Eat here twice during my stay at the Colonial. Meals were great. Also had room service from this restaurant on several occasions service was prompt and room service meal same quality as in restaurant. The restaurant is quirky lovely ambience.

As my partner and I and mother in law entered, Dean asked abruptly 'have you got a reservation?' And when I said no, he said 'why don't people make reservations' Really???! This guy does not want to be there and it shows - BAD START! It then got worse with our meals taking 40 minutes to arrive. My mother in... More

The menu has been updated and I believe there is a new chef. Food was good before but I had the best pork belly I have ever eaten.

If you've ever been to England then you'll know what an English pub feels like.. This has the same feel for me especially in winter with the fire going but it doesn't matter which time of year I have eaten here I have thoroughly enjoyed the meal served to me whether it has been breakfast or dinner...

One word to describe superb. Food was great service was great. The menu wasn't huge but the food when it came was well prepared and very enjoyable. Would highly recommend this establishment.

Went here for dinner one night and were disappointed with the food and the service. The waitress clearly didn't enjoy her job and did not smile once from the moment she showed us to our table. Drinks took almost 20 minutes to come out (it was just a bottle of wine with two glasses), she didn't apologise for the delay.... More

Located in an old grammar school with photos from a bygone era...the makings of a lovely atmosphere. The food was delicious with our group having a varied array from the menu - nothing disappointed! Good servings and delicious meals all round at a reasonable cost. Although it was raining, there is a beer garden outside which would have been inviting... More

Thank you for your recent review of our restaurant, I was delighted to read that you enjoyed your dining experience with us. Our wonderful beer garden "Rosies" has been very popular with this great weather we have been having. Its a shame you visited on a rainy day. We look forward to welcoming you back! More
