The waiter recommended the lobster so we tried it. It was not the best (probably Europeans have too high expectations ;) but it was fine. The octopus was quite different to Mediterranean style but was somehow tasty. Garlic bread was good, too. The waiters were very kind and polite, the atmosphere of the restaurant - quite pleasurable. Various choices in the menu.

We stayed in Maafushi for 10 days and we went to this Stingray restaurant about 8 times.
The food is great, we are very surprised always. There's Maldivian food but also Indian Food.
The staff was very kind and helpful. One of the employees Sabir was the one that attend us more times and we would like to thank him for all the tips and recomendations.
We definitely recommend this place.

Ordered the grilled fish. Dissapointing. Slathered barbeque sauce on everything like it was burger King. The prawns weren't deviened. The octopus had grit/sand in it. The waiter was rude and constantly complained about the food not being ordered in one go. Part and parcel of the job mate (somebody needs to tell the bugger who to wait tables).
The ice cream shake was a watery miss hit and was terrible. They also didn't have any other fish other than Tuna. Not sure why they call it a seafood place and Tuna was the only fish that was on offer.
The fried rice was the saving grace. Don't order anything else. Ideally I don't like to name and shame but the waiters name was Arzo and the guy was terrible. Never will I recommend the place because of the experience we had. 8 people on the table and he got on all our nerves.

Our dive instructor recommended this place and it was such a disappointment. We went for lunch and order some grill tuna dish. They served a different fish and when I complained the guy said they did not have tuna and that was similar. The fish that I did not recognise at all was very dry and no taste. I was upset that they took the decision to cook this other fish that I did not order without asking. The other sea food dish was cooked with poor quality fish.

It was my second time eating at Stingray Restaurant and definitely best meals we ate in Maafushi. My husband had the mixed grilled seafood with fresh grilled fish, prawns, mussels and cuttlefish and I had the grilled cuttlefish with chips and salad. Everything was amazing, good atmosphere, but best of all was the friendly staff!! Definitely coming back!

Upstairs is quite cozy and having an authentic tropical feeling, our waiter is quick like a hurricane :)
Food was delicious. I had garlic fish, my friends had different curry dishes, and they were all quite impressed.
I wanted octopus first, but waiter explained it's not the season just yet, which is quite understandable.
Price is not dear at all! I do recommend this place.

We had one lunch at Stingray and the food was very good. In the menu you can find a variety of plates, but we went for fish and sea food. The food was very tasty and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
The only minus I can think of are the mosquitoes.... it was actually an invasion if you try to eat outside. We had to move under the ventilator in order to get rid of.

It was our wedding anniversary and we get to have to candlelight dinner here.
We ordered a fish and a seafood platter.
The seafood platter was fulfilling but Fish was half cooked, the taste was average and hence I would never try it again.

The food and the ambience here was fantastic! It was our best restaurant experience of the trip. The waiters were amazing and very attentive. The garden is a very pleasant spot for dinner. Highly recommend! They also have an alternative Indian Food menu that we did not get a chance to try but looked delicious!

The food was just okay.. Lot of mosquitoes around the outdoor areas and obviously not even clean. The table cloth and foam on the chair not even wash for a long time. The service is too slow and you will wait more than eat..
The location is nice but they need to clean the restaurant and improve the food and service

We went to Stingray twice. Both times great food, quick service. We had a Sheesha. And even tried their candle light dinner at the beach. They prepared it really nicely and made us feel extraordinary.
The restaurant itself is very nice. Worth of trying

The stay at Stingray was very enjoyable. Built in a small coconut grove, the setting is shady and cool and set away from the busier parts of Maafushi. The staff was always friendly and helpful. I would definitely book another stay at the hotel.

《🇲🇻馬爾代夫美食之旅5️⃣》
馬爾代夫另一個最大嘅特色喺所有國民都喺伊斯蘭教徒，除咗一日有5次祈禱🙏，每個島都會有比佢哋念經祈禱嘅清真寺，而每逢星期五都喺「主麻日(Cuma)」，基本上好多公共服務、餐廳、商店都會暫停，比民眾有一個休息、集體禮拜嘅時間🕌，所以Plan行程都要留意番呢👀
街上8-9成見到嘅都喺男人，因為女人好少會出街，而且規定女人要戴面紗同遮頭🧕🏾，不過時代唔同咗，一般比較後生嘅當地女性都慢慢唔會守得咁嚴厲，但如果你有機會去馬爾代夫嘅話，無論男女都記得唔好著得太暴露，尊重返當地文化啊🤓
Maafushi呢間Stingray Cafe @stingraybeachinn 開咗喺一堆Souvenir shops附近🐚，掃完貨shopping過後最啱就喺坐低食個飯😋。餐廳有兩層，坐樓上就好似喺樹屋到食嘢咁，幾有feel，不過換嚟就喺好多蚊螆同烏蠅喺到飛嚟飛去🪰
✝️Fried Squid Tube (MVR135)
呢度就無得食魔鬼魚嘅，不過魷魚就真喺有唔少選擇🦑，呢個炒魷魚筒包住好多雜菜，味道有啲似我哋香港食嘅豉椒炒魷，配上洋蔥🧅、三色椒🫑、蘿蔔🥕，炒得幾惹味，配飯食一流👍。當中仲有啲肉粒，不過一定唔會喺豬肉，因為伊斯蘭教徒喺唔食得豬肉嘅，所以任何一間當地餐廳都唔會見到有豬肉嘅存在
✝️Mongolian Beef with Rice (MVR135)
呢碟蒙古牛肉用咗秘製海鮮醬、豉油同辣椒去炒🌶️，除咗牛肉粒之外仲有好多蔥同各樣蔬菜，味濃而不辣，對我嚟講就鹹咗啲，而且太多汁食落好heavy，不過撈飯食嘅話都真喺唔錯，但比我揀我都喺食返Fried Squid Tube好過喇🤣
馬爾代夫除咗有魔鬼魚同玳瑁睇，仲有護士鯊(Nurse Shark)、珊瑚礁(Coral Reef)🪸、海豚(Lucky Dolphins )等唔同嘅海洋生物睇🐬，嚟呢度除咗試多啲唔同餐廳🍴，仲要玩多啲唔同嘅水上/水下活動啊😍，畢竟唔喺guarantee 100%睇到佢哋嘅出現㗎
🇲🇻旅遊小Tips 1：港元對馬爾代夫貨幣（MVR）約為1兌1.97（e.g.今餐MVR332.37即大約HKD169），另外基本上所有餐廳都收美金，不過就要問清楚匯率喺幾多喇😎
🇲🇻旅遊小Tips 2：馬爾代夫當地食嘢要比10%服務費，同埋6%嘅Goods and Services Tax（2023年1月1日起仲會提升到8%），食嘢之前計清楚budget啊🤓
🇲🇻旅遊小Tips 3：坐低之後餐廳一般會比樽裝水你，如果唔需要嘅話記得出聲，因為要收錢㗎😛
