This restaurant offers buffet dinner. For 12 USD the restaurant does not offer good enough value for money. Sure its food, but nothing special compared to the other restaurants nearby. Varity, taste, overall quality and presentation could be improved.

We stopped here to hide from the rain. Order pizza and coffee. Staff was friendly, a little bit scared. Pizza was bad (maybe unfrozen in oven?) coffee was nice. An average experience for the price

Beautiful setting for a meal in front of the hotel directly on the sand. Dinner buffet was $10USD each. Pretty bland tuna, but one of the local cats like it!

We came here for dinner once. The service was excellent and attentive but unfortunately the food was not good at all and therefore we did not return the restaurant again.
We ordered a butter chicken and a tuna steak as they didn’t have any shrimps and prawns available even though they were presented at the menu. Though, this was quite a regular thing in restaurants in Maafushi.
Anyways, you could eat the butter chicken, but it didn’t resemble any butter chicken meals I have tasted before. It didn’t really taste anything, and the chicken was so chewy that you needed to cut it down into tiny tiny pieces if you wished to eat it. The tuna steak portion was beautiful but instead of one tuna steak you got 3 small ones with loose skin and fish full of fish bones. It took a long time to separate the skin, fish bones and bad fish parts from edible ones and after the operation was over, more than 50% of the fish was something you could not eat. Worst dinner during our 10 days visit in Maafushi,

My experience was with breakfasts and 1 time order.
Breakfast is very limited. Unbelievable amount of flies. Long queues on egg station.
The 1 time I ordered pizza I asked them to finish in max an hour as I had an excursion, until I left the room after 1.5 hrs from the order, nothing ever showed up.
Not recommended!

The quality of food was very few, and it was expensive, more worst that they didn’t accept local currency and they get more money by using our master cart.

Bad behaviour from restaurant staff. No proper indication of food we are vegan but don't see this as good option for vegan folks especially my wife didn't like

Tender fish and amazing service. I don’t like fish. I lost a bet and had to order fish for dinner. We’re on an island as you figured probably. So not everything is always available. After a short time of tried to find a fish I was willing to order we found this place. I ordered the reef fish. And again I don’t like fish but tried many many times. This is the best fish I’ve ever had. It was super tender and tasty. The chef took his time and the server kept updating us on when I food would be ready. Going back there tonight!

We went 2 times for dinner. They have buffet for 15$ with water included, really good!! Many starter options and mains (also for vegeterians).
All the staff very friendly but the best was the girl from Sri Lanka (i don't remember the name, sorry) she was so polite and kind!!
If we come back, we will go again for sure!

My friends and I stayed at Kaani Grand and had breakfast here every morning. By the 3rd morning, Manoj, the best server (and he's new) had our order memorized with who took tea vs coffee with milk, without sugar, etc. He was so polite and attentive, and we looked forward to seeing his smile every day. The other staff were also nice and the food was a nice variety each day. Loved the mango and guava juice, and the chickpea curry the best. I already miss Manoj and his smiling face :) If you visit, say hi for me!
