An unexpected interval in Whangarei saw us end up here, guided by Trip Advisor, and we're so glad we did! All 4 of us greatly enjoyed the delicious Israeli treats on offer. Would recommend the shakshuka

Fat Camel is modelled on a typical Israeli cafe, and the food is Israeli / Middle Eastern. The falafels are the best and their hummus is also great. Good coffee options and they do cabinet food as well as hot food. They have plenty of...More

We generally go for the platters as there as so many different taste combinations available with them. The food is always fresh, and you don't feel guilty eating it.

One of my favourites in whangarei - authentic middle eastern food similar to cafe Jerusalem in kerikeri but a bit more selection

A bit quirky and the staff are very friendly. The setting is a bit odd but is convenient and offers both indoor and outdoor seating. Great vegetarian options and good coffee.

The food and service is consistently good. We love the open kitchen, that we could see was preparing fresh food, obviously a busy place, that is for many, a local favourite.

Rour of us had baba ganoogh, chicken shawarmas and shaksuka. All items were well prepared and service was good. We also had bakavas which were good.

We got the falafel plate, falafel pita, pickled plate (onions, olives, cucumbers, sundried tomatoes, artichoke hearts), shakshuka, and combo plate. Hot Tea on a cold night is great, and it was very helpful they were open later in Whangarei. The skhug was cilantro-y- and spicy...More

Lovely fresh kebabs with original sauces. Falafel was simple but some of the best we've had in the region. Definitely a step up from the usual kebab places. Worth the stop!
