A'Deco the fine dining restaurant in Whangarei has stopped trading. It has not been open for some time now. It appears business was not brisk enough. Shame, as the food was superb.

Have been to this restaurant several times and have had excellent service and food. Just went to book dinner for tomorrow night. The phone message says "we are not open anymore!!!"
The house has an amazing history dating from the 1930s, and the restaurant works with this heritage to great effect. The menu offers fine dining but is very contemporary and good value. Very good wine list. Staff are very pleasant and helpful and it was a joy to eat here. Hannah was in charge the night we went, and she... More
We went for a family get together, It took over 20 minutes to get a drink, this was after having to wave a staff member over, we then waited an hour for our entree's. The food was good, but not spectacular for the pricing. Pretty disappointing all round to be honest.
We were met with a smile and led to a group of tables so we could choose. The restaurant had two occupied tables at 7 on a Friday night. We chose to look at the menus before ordering wine from a very short wine list. An entree each, hers a tarikihi service with a glss of rose, mine a salmon... More
It is many years since I was last at a'Deco and I must say that I was "mildly" disappointed. OK - let's get the excuses out of the way - I do feel sorry for this restaurant - extensive road works outside has been going on for over one year - the usual dirt and grime associated with this must... My husband and I had been wanting to go to a Deco for years and recently we finally got round to it. Well....what a total disappointment! The food lacked any WOW factor whatsoever. For a restaurant that claims to deliver fine dining it doe not cut it in any way! We both had the trust the chef degustation menu -... More
Fine dining at it's best. Perfect for that special occasion. Slow dining in a good way! Beautiful food and perfect attentive but discreet service. We were a group of five and all meals were delicious. Second visit here and equally great this time. Thanks guys.
We visited this restaurant two years ago and it's even better now than it was then. Positives: A surprise and thrill for the taste buds with every mouthful of food through four sensational courses, well paced, subtle and well balanced. Crisp warm bread rolls to start. Savoured Marsden pinot gris but no room left for red with the meat. The... More
