My Mom and I had traveled to the South Island for the sled dog racing. We decided that we would wait till our trip back up the South Island to splurge and have SEA FOOD which we both love. We had fish and chip's the first night in Kaikoura they were very nice but also very expensive $39 00 for... More

I'm not sure that readers of your review are interested in your near fatal accident but at least congratulations on surviving. Firstly you were served a 600 gram Crayfish that was cooked to an exact time for it's weight you ordered a whole Crayfish which was served with the normal bowl of salad and a bowl of french fries you... Our B&B recommended Tuti's to us. It was one of the best meals we had in 3.5 weeks of travel in NZ. The mussels are amazing and HUGE in size and serving. The special of the night which was seafood with an Asian flare was fabulous. The prices are reasonable for the amount of food you are served. Service was... More

I was in Kaikoura during the earthquake last weekend. As everyone knows, food and water were (and are) scarce. The owner/chef and her husband made a load of food, using their gas stove, and drove it in their truck up to Churchill Park to hand it out to people who needed it. They did not ask for money, and when... More

Tutis is straight over the road from the BIG 10 we stayed at and even if it was further down the road it was worth it. Expensive food but good service and ambience, we enjoyed it immensely. Couldn't get over the Asians who ordered food without looking up from their phones and then when the food arrived took photos of... More

After leaving Nelson heading back to Christchurch we decided to stay the night in Kaikoura for some dinner before we carried on. We decided to stop at Tutis as it was on the main road. The meals was presented beautifully and bursting with flavours. I had the Groper with mash potatoes and vegetables and my husband had the most tender... More

Quite nice, but I considered it very much over priced. I found the menu very limited as I cannot eat Asian food. Also asked if I could have a small (or child sized) ice cream Sundae, and received a very firm 'no'. I would not go there again

The majority of meals in our restaurant are prepared in the traditional Kiwi or Western way and the menu consists of fresh local fish such as Groper, Gurnard, Flounder, Butterfish Terakihi and other species either pan fried, baked, steamed or on occasions deep fried and as well as Crayfish, Mussels, Scallops, Prawns and other shellfish, these meals are served with... We enjoyed an excellent supper, grouper was the catch of the day. Seasoned beautifully and well prepared. We especially enjoyed the generous serving of steamed veggies prepared just right.

This was one of our favorite dinners in New Zealand. We had the peanut prawns and the fresh catch along with the chili mussel appetizer. Highly recommended.

We decided on a last minute stopover in Kaikoura as we had a day to spare before going on the Ferry in Picton. Drove past Tui's and it looked inviting. Checked into the hotel and asked for a recommendation and was given this. The service was fantastic, the food fabulous and reasonably price. Great find on an unexpected stop and... More

One of the locals recommended this restaurant to us while we were on holiday. We were not disappointed. We shared a squid entree with home made aoli to die for and we both had fish of the day which was superb. The NZ wines were great and the dessert was delicious. Servings are very generous and the staff were pleasant... More
