It's a great location to go for a cuppa, or a meal, in the CBD of Portland. The service is always friendly, and welcoming. There are different rooms to choose from, so you can be in a bigger room or a smaller room depending on the people's individual needs. While there you can go to each room to peruse all... More

We visited Ms Mermaids Tea Rooms for a Saturday morning coffee and eats. Being a windy day (typical weather for Portland wind-farms) we sat on the front veranda that was convenient shelter where we were able to view the pretty rose bushes prolifically covered in summer flowers, and while traffic crawled along the main street. We noted several rooms with... More

This was admittedly the only place we could find in Portland that was open and not too busy over the holiday period. But we would return. The eclectic collection of art and clatter in the rabbit-warren rooms of this cafe restaurant are homely and quirky. The Thai-inspired soup we had was excellent. We were even tempted to ask for the... More

We were tempted by a sign that promised fresh scones, so we stopped by for lunch, coffee and a scone. The food was great, the coffee and scones warm and delicious. The tea tree gallery is certainly unique - it's in a regular house and you're invited to get lost in the different rooms and browse the art or do... More

Stopped for coffee while browsing the shops in the main street, lovely little place, lots of unusual things to look at, great coffee, didn't try the scones but they looked amazing, next time will try them.

We were lured in by the Devonshire tea sign. When you enter it's a bit confusing, there is no clear direction to the counter. You wander in and look in each room at people seated at tables. As we did this a young man saw us and called us to the counter which is towards the back. The scones are... More

This was a delicious little getaway while I was in Portland for a week or two doing some work. The staff were so friendly and everything I ordered was just divine! Can't wait to pop in next time I'm down that way!

Good location, main street of town, good parking at rear in aldi carpark, laneway through, bit overpriced for coffee and cakes and wraps, had lunch there last year, from ordering to delivery, 34 minutes, just for a wrap and coffee. There were only about 12 people in at the time, I checked and counted, service was not the best on... More

This is a cafe combined with an art gallery, shopfront for local artists and swcond hand book shop. The food is simple but well prepared with a huge range of teas. The art is reasonably priced and good quality second handbooks very cheap. Lovely setting as it is a converted old house so each room is a themed sitting area for the cafe.
