We went to lunch here end of April. We were able to sit out in the sun. All four of us were very impressed with our delicious food.

Our group of 6 hadn't booked and arrived late for lunch on a Friday - but nothing was a problem. The meal was just fabulous - especially the John Dory which was enjoyed by a number of our group. Wine selection is very good - with some older vintages being available.

We go here quite often and the food is always amazing! The waiting staff could be a bit friendlier, sometimes it feels like they hate their job.

The chef has to be commended. Another amazing meal. Had the award winning steak meal and couldn't fault it. Always enjoy a meal here when I am in the Hawkes Bay. Can't wait to come back again and try another meal.

My party was very disappointed with the Vidal experience which included: Constant flicking away of fly’s, despite the restaurant being located inside Very noisy atmosphere (poor acoustics), so holding a conversation was very difficult Wine on menu different to wine served at table Starter arriving without its main ingredient Meat not cooked to requested level Side dish arriving 15 minutes... We had a lovely dinner here. The food was phenomenal, and so beautifully plated it almost felt a shame to dig in. The wine was also brilliant, we bought some at the local market the next day.

We attended Vidal for a family birthday lunch but sadly the meal was no celebration. The main excuse given by the obviously flustered wait staff, was that there was a trainee chef working. While this is plausible for any restaurant, any trainee staff should have good support so that constant errors in food preparation do no occur. The first mistake... More

The food was absolutely amazing and generous portions. The calamari starter was amazing! Lovely atmosphere and reasonably priced.

First visit to Vidals for several years and it was truly superb. Took my parents for. dinner. Menu was excellent, service was great. Entrees were extremely generous and flavours were divine, mains were equally as good. VERY. Highly recommended
