wonderful food and service as per our last visits, celebrating my other half's mothers day, thought it would be tough as my mum passed on 8th October last year they had limited menu for today, but all enjoyed the food, being a veggie I did not like the option they had so they cooked me another option, could not fault... Brilliant food and even better service. Popped in for lunch and was very pleasantly surprised. Gorgeous surroundings, full of character & style. The food was delicious and came with very helpful suggestions from the very attentive waiter. On the way out Nick showed us the stunning bedrooms - beautiful. Wish I lived further away so I could have a reason... More

We just visited, the service was faultless. We were greeted and made to feel welcome and soon as we walked in the door. All the staff were friendly and chatty. We all ordered the trio of roasts which tasted amazing. The chicken was super tender and juicy. Good selection of drinks and desserts. We will definitely visit us again.

I picked this pub without having seen reviews. My friend, who I was having lunch with, lives in Wimbledon and I live in St Albans so we try to pick a place that is halfway from where we live! I didnt realise how busy it would be but we managed to get a table. The waiter asked us if we wanted... More

With quite a few choices for "gastro" eating locally, the Black Horse remains the best. Our most recent visit was on a Saturday night for a casual dinner. Food was great, decent wine choices, good value and friendly service ( even though they were clearly run off their feet!). We prefer to eat in the pub itself rather than the... More

A real gem hidden in fulmer. Had a wonderful burger and a couple of pints of IPA which tastes like beer flavoured spring water.

Came in to grab some dinner while on the road for work. Had the beef pie which was delicious, and the chocolate tart was to die for. The waitress Sian was a sweetheart and really attentive, will definitely stop by again

We hosted a surprise Birthday party for 50 guests at The Black Horse on Saturday 4th February and were 'blown away' by the amazing service, delicious food, friendly staff and the quality of the pub in general. From the first enquiry it was a pleasure to liaise with Jane and her staff and we were very grateful for all the... More

Came down on a Thursday night for a quick bite to eat, couldn't be happier with the service received. The sausage and mash was amazing! Thank you Josh for looking after us.

My Wife and I stayed at the hotel for an anniversary weekend. We ate in at the restaurant and took the opportunity to visit the local towns. We had a fantastic stay and everything was perfect from checking in to leaving a couple of days later. The food in the restaurant was fantastic as were the staff. Nothing was too... More
