I needed lunch and the Windmill provided a good value meal in pleasant surroundings. Popular with cyclists and by how busy it was on a Thursday, it will be very busy at the weekend! Food nicely presented but cheap condiments do them no favours - the mayo was thin and vinegary for example.

I often take my little boy and mother to the windmill as there is a great outdoors and the shops are also lovely - especially the wood shop, lady in there is very helpful ! Each time I visit I like to have something in the cafe. Each time the food has been very disappointing. Upon our last visit to... More

I have been using this cafe as a stop on my cycling route around Leicestershire. It's great and well worth a visit.

We stopped off here with the Lotus (Caterham) Seven Club for breakfast & a dry out on a very wet Sunday. Most of us had a full breakfast which was outstanding, particularly at the price point. We saw others dropping in here, cyclists & walkers & so on, looks a popular venue.

Stopped here for light refreshments on Saturday afternoon. The choice and quality of home made cakes were very good and at a reasonable prices. The location of the windmill tearooms is lovely with stunning views. Well worth visiting.

Great little spot. Very picturesque. Play area for kids. The cafe is lovely. Prices are good. Service good. Staff very nice. There appears to be an indoor play area above the seating area which for me was the only bad point as it was full of squealing kids. Other than that it's a perfect spot.

Nice place to chill out for a couple of days, friendly hosts, great views and the option to look around the shops and use the cafe. Kids have a playground and plenty of toys.

We'd had a disappointing lunch in Rutland & had included this location on a drive out. Lovely location, delicious cake & a lovely strong brew....... Highly recommended
