We came here on last Saturday for a lunch, the service and food upset my family completely. The cod fish we ordered (cost $24) came in two thin slices of oily, over deep-fried, salty cod fillets, and we waited for almost 20min to be served that small portion. The beef sushi rolls cover with whole lot of unknown combination sauces... More

We have been coming here for years. The staff and friendly and efficient and the food is very good. Something for the whole family my daughter loves the mini rolls that they make especially (and fresh!) and the adults love the teriyaki sets. Will we've back? Of course!

A really lovely Japanese Sushi Restaurant in Victoria Ave Chatswood. The food is always tasty and fresh. The wine list needs some work so BYO is best. Book for groups of more than four.

The food standard has fallen compared to years ago when there were less competition. It is acceptable for a quick simple cooked meal, but I would expect any sashimi worth serving to be really "fresh". There is absolutely no excuse. I understand that a friend who goes there regularly do get the sushi chef's special!

I have eaten in many Japanese food places but this one just didn't do anything for me. The salmon didn't seem fresh and the tofu salad was more mayo than salad.

8 of us went to Sushi Ya and were pleased with the menu and variet. the staff put us in a private room to accommodate us, it could have been noisy in the main dining room and turned out quite nice.

This is our favourite low key restaurant. The decor is basic but the food is excellent! Great value, fresh, and well served. We love Japanese food, visit Japan regularly, and visit here on a regular basis.

In an area full of Asian restaurants this is a standout, consistently good food, the decor could do with a freshen up, old tatty chairs and well used tables. This does not detract from the food, and the service.

From the ambience and the place, one would not really expect the eatery offers good Japanese food. We like the Sanma a lot, and the sashimi and sushi are not bad either. Wished the place is better.

From the moment we walked in there was a feeling of dread and we should have walked straight back out. Rude disinterested staff who slammed dishes on tables, talking loudly to each other behind the counter. The lady who was manning the sushi corner (?) stood there intently staring at customers as they ate - very uncomfortable. Salmon lover sushi... More
