My friends had booked a hens night dinner two weeks ago, $55 pp for a three course dinner for 17 pax. The starter was some olives followed by the main course which was three bowls of chicken and beef pieces two bowls of rice and...some green salad. One of the girls, a vegetarian (which had been mentioned when booking) ended up with only being able to eat the salad. As for the dessert, they are still waiting for it. My friends where too embarrassed / polite to complain in front of the rest of the group, however rather outraged about the cost $55 pp and nothing to show for. Hence, don’t go there if you want to make sure you get value for money.More
A lovely night, great vibe and character to start with despite waiting an hour for our entree. This was further spoiled by having the restaurant packed up with chairs on tables and sitting alone in a space normally occupied with table settings at 9:30pm. There...was no need to make us feel so unwelcome and when mentioned to the owner, his response was that it was good for the staff. A real sour end to a nice evening.More
Truly excellent middle eastern(ish) cuisine in the heart of Leura. The food is simply sublime and the service excellent. Reasonable pricing is the icing on the cake. This place is 2 must visit if you are in town!!
Oh my. So many good things to say - Tony the owner and his staff have made a perfect experience in this little out-of-the way venue. The home-style Turkish meze fare is outstanding. Particularly the lahmacun (which beats any I’ve ever had in Sydney) and...the lamb shish plate, which includes the wonderful spiced rice. The service was excellent, the cocktails were beautiful, and we could have stayed all night and chatted with Tony. Very grateful for a wonderful evening. Worth the drive up the mountains just to visit the lovely polar bear.More
We were served a seafood basket that was dry without any accompanying lemon or tartare sauce. My lamb was also dry and a little tough.
Staff tried hard but were poorly trained and had to ask a more senior person.
Customers were told that they...had to finish eating at a certain time.
Cocktail had almost no alcohol for a cost of $19. A little surprised why there are so many good reviews.More
We dined here twice whilst holidaying in the Blue Mountains. The service was impeccable, the cocktail list extensive; but the food was delicious. Most of the dishes are either turkish/middle eastern but they are so authentic and tasty. The best vine leaves and slow cooked...lamb. One suggestion for the owners. Don't skimp on the alcohol in the cocktails.More
