The Pier Hotel restaurant is a great setting with views of the Tamar River. The food is good quality pub food and always consistent.

From the outside it does not seem to tell much. But the food was good. I had the Hot chilly beef pie and was just awesome, right heat level and nice mushrooms sauce. The roasted tomato and basil scoop was good but I would have for it a bit smoother with a blade blender. Beer on tap and Taz wines... More

We stopped here for dinner and a drink before going out to the penguins at Low Head. The pub itself has a really nice atmosphere and the restaurant had a good variety on the menu and reasonable prices. It pays to book especially if you, like us were stopping on the way to the Penguins, they will make sure you... More

Nice food, nice pub but unfortunately greeted by unwelcoming staff.. "Jo" in bistro! You get paid to be there, not hard to be friendly.

Is very last century bistro style pub dining experience. The menu selection is reasonable but is pricy for pub meals. Portion sizes are OK as is Food, but nothing to get too excited about. Overall was acceptable..

We ordered lunch at 12 arrived at 1pm. Ordered nachos. Totally disgusted. No mince, beans or guacamole. Instead used salsa over corn chips and topped off with an overload of cheese. Friend ordered curry pie. A disgusting curry dish topped with an uncooked puff pastry on top. Wouldn't recommend as prices don't match the quality.

This place was a pleasant surprise as we had been for a drive & stumbled across this place when walking through George Town. We both had toasted sandwiches & chips with gravy. No complaints. The chips were well cooked with nice gravy. Really picturesque sleepy town.

Wife ordered the mixed seafood dish. Oyster was foul tasting and she exited to the toilet to spit it out. Remains and 2nd oyster had a clearly off aroma. Our complaints to the staff were forwarded to chef who replied they were purchased yesterday and were fine. He is welcome to eat them. We won't risk a return experience.

Had a great time, meal was fantastic and the staff were friendly and very helpful - will definitely be back. Sitting out in covered verandah overlooking the Tamar River is a nice way to enjoy your meal.

Thank Matt L
