Very old English setting and away from the city. The food is terrific and reasonable in price with good portion sizes. Huge car park, although a walk up the hill, but has access if you need to drive to the top, limited parking there though. Indoor or outdoor eating areas, and large grassed area to just sit with some shade.... More

Tucjed away in the Bedfordale hills, this old English style pub is great for weddings/ receptions, parties, small and large groups. Fantastic food (huge servings), amazing home brew beer, big fireplace in winter and a massive beer garden for summer.

After searching high and low for a place to dine after travelling all day, we found this fantastic tavern ,we didn't have a booking but the attendant made us welcome and found a table for us with no hassles. The meals were huge and so tadty ,it quite made our day. Thankyou,Elizabethan Tavern.

Food was awful, overlooked parmi was like rubber and it came with tinned vegetables (tinned always has that distinctive taste). On a plus the chips weren't too bad and the surroundings are cosy. Won't be hurrying back.

A wow factor ! I walked from room to room and around the outside, verbalizing Wow, Wow Wow. It's a warm and cozy inside, inviting and nostalgic. Lovely staff and meals. Lovely gardens and an enormous beer garden. Would be beautifull in Summer ! The building itself is just amazing. I loved my little trip back in time.

The Elizabethan Pub is a lovely old building surrounded by beautiful gardens and large established trees. It also has a village green which occasionally hosts Medieval Society Markets and Games. Plus celebrations for Saint George's day each year. The Restaurant has a varied menu of traditional Pub fare and the bar stocks well known plus boutique beers. A great place... More

The Pub was warm and cosy and comfortable. We started with pre-dinner drinks ordered at the bar but placed on a tab. Meals were quite extensive and very large ensuring that there was plenty to eat. Atmosphere was conducive to friendly discussions, enjoyment of a drink and sharing of fine food. Delightful evening out.

The Elizabethan Village Pub has a very pleasant feel to it, both in summer and in winter. We eat here regularly because it is such great overall value. We sit out on the village green to enjoy the best pale ale anywhere (brewed on site I think) and a champagne if it is a warm sunny afternoon. If it is... More

We've been here a few times now for drinks. Lovely little cottage pub, nice atmosphere. We went last night for a feed waited for 15 minutes at the front of the queue to order, and ended up having to ask a passing bar man to please take our order who's reply was "oh, yeah I guess so.." Got our drinks... More
