Couldn't fault this remarkable, hatted eatery in PF. Elegant, refined dining featuring the region's very best. Understated, sleek surrounds make each extraordinary dish pop even more alongside attentive service. We ate at a Michelin Guide restaurant in Prague earlier in the year, and couldn't help...More

Very small and intimate space which I like. Only option is a degustation or tasting menu which I am not a big fan of but when in Rome? Don't come here if you are budget conscious. The staff were excellent as was their knowledge of...More

The food I enjoyed at Fen seemed worthy of the restaurant's converted chefs hat. Parties of five are required to partake in a set sampling menu. I like new food adventures, and so was happy to abide. The pre dinner oyster to start was impeccably...More

We stayed at the Comfort Inn and Fens is next door. We simply stumbled across it by accident. Great service, local food and wine.

My husband and I dined at Fen after reading the review in the Australian Newspaper of the top 50 restaurants in Australia. Be prepared for an expensive night out but it is worth every dollar. The food and service were outstanding. The chef uses a...More

Intelligent food that is theatrically presented is as close to opera one can desire, but when its also delicious its the cherry on the taste cake. I like when native ingredients are used intelligently not as a novelty. A mussel and roe sauce supports a...More

We enjoyed the five course set tasting menu, it was excellent. Generous serves, extremely well prepared, presented and composed. Every dish was delicious, and introduced when served. Atmosphere is fairly casual, bare tables, but excellent stoneware, glassware and cutlery. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, professional...More

This was certainly the highlight of our weekend away. Our dining experience was absolutely amazing, the menu had a vast array of locally sourced ingredients. We selected the 5 course degustation, we couldn't decide which course was our favourite as each one was outstanding. Each...More

From our warm welcome on a chilly mid winter Saturday night, we adored our 5 course degustation menu. The locally sourced menu was wonderfully innovative and beautifully presented. So many favourites such as the crab, macadamia, Davidson plum and finger lime or the local lamb,...More

Description
Fen - low-lying flat coastal land. Our small restaurant in seaside Port Fairy was formerly known as The Stag Restaurant. We have been open since March 2015 and have recently re-branded to Fen Restaurant in March 2016. Fen's brand of modern dining combine innovative native ingredients with more traditional produce to create food that is uniquely Australian. Our drinks list is exclusively Australian and favours small-batch, handmade, low intervention, often organic or bio-dynamic wines and spirits.
