Nipped in here for a quick lunch. Big mistake. My wife ordered an open salmon sandwich. Waitress heard toasted special, my wife repeated, an open salmon sandwich. I ordered the meat salad plate. A toasted club special arrived for my wife... not a happy spouse. My meat salad had seen better days. I ventured to the loo.... oh dear god.... More

Carvery is served downstairs but I always opt for the restaurant upstairs and it is very well done with high ceilings and comfortable surroundings. Had the veg soup , beef , medley of desert was then served . The food is good and staff can not do enough for you . Locally run also which makes a big difference.

The Black boot in is a triple winner in one. Great café down stairs for during the day eating, great breakfast choices and lovely coffee. Best breakfast/ brunch spot to go for miles. The restaurant upstairs is fab, and great for the town. Always a good menu with great, friendly service. And last but not least, one of my favourite... More

We were travelling to Cavan from Limerick and spotted The Black Boot Restaurant. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was of top quality and the choices were good. There was also a large range of desserts and pastries to be had. Would go there again.

I recently visited the Black Boot Restaurant. After spotting the range of deserts on display I couldn't but resist. So I opted for the deserts over the dinner menu! The display of deserts, pastries and cakes were mouth watering. There were 3 of us and all opted for the deserts and coffee. We tried a different desert each and shared....what... More

We were quickly seated and served with our order of scones (with butter, cream and jam), cakes and coffees. Excellent food and service and all reasonably priced. If I am ever in Ferbane again, I will eat here.
