Very pleasant dinner with excellent seafood. Good service. Excellent ambience. The restaurant was very busy but we were welcomed with typical New Zealand hospitality and made to feel at home.

I walked from the ferry. I used not the main road but track just behind the carrental. At Cable Bay you have a nice view on Auckland. Enjoy the view with a nice glass of wine.

In a reasonably large group we did wine tasting. Semi-decent wines. We asked to taste a pinot Gris and were told we had to go to the restaurant part to do so. We boughht a bottle of the Pinot Gris and it was double the price as it was in the cellar!!!! But the waiter had already opened the bottle... More

We ate in the restaurant and the food was wonderful. The plates are works of art, and had many wonderful surprises. We had the lamb and the fish, both spectacular. Get the steamed veggies, which are locally grown. Staff very friendly. The lovely setting looks back to Auckland.

We ate dinner here while staying on Waiheke Island. We started with caprese and it was as good as I have ever had. There were fresh tomatoes along with plenty of mozzarella, sliced olives, and capers. The fish for our main meal was properly cooked and moist and flavorful. The wines we had were also good. The views here would... More

Arrived for dinner at about 7.15pm. We were taken to our seats and given some water. The place was quite empty, probably about five tables having dinner. After sitting for approx 25 mins with nobody coming over to serve us we left. Just a bit of advice to management and waiting staff - always keep an eye on all tables,... More

I get it that when you operate a restaurant suppliers don't always deliver what you order for your menu, and I'm ok with that. But please don't have your menu state "king prawns" and then deliver me the pathetic little shrimp that you can see in the pic I've added. The same goes for finnochiona... it would require fennel, so... More

Great location , with a large lawn area overlooking the sea . There is a fine fine restaurant and a simple cantina ( always pretty busy ) or you can just have a glass of wine at sunset( my choice) sitting on beanbags and relaxing

This may be one of the most overrated wine experiences I have ever taken part of in my life. My basic recommendation is you enjoy Cable Bay for its amazing view and skip the wine room. Compared to many of the other vineyards on the island, Cable Bay's wines are plain and uninteresting. The wine room felt corporate and cold.... More
