Family dinner night out with our adult children. Initial greeting at door was great but as we waited and perused the drink menu it seemed like we were forgotten. Rather than taking a drink order another staff member came and showed us to the table,...asking all the same questions as the first person we encountered. A bit awkward to the point I am thinking they are training new staff? We were shown to a table upstairs. To be honest the atmosphere upstairs is non existant, I don't recommend it unless you are a large party and bring your own atmosphere if you know what I mean. Once the waiter saw us he took is time getting to us to even ask what kind of water we wanted. Did not ask for drink orders at that point. When our choice of water wasn't available he came to ask if still water was ok, we said yes and off he went. Again, not taking drink orders. Eventually he asked if we wanted a cocktail or were ready to order. We ordered cocktails and went from there. The cocktails were amazing, one of the best Caesars I have had in a while! We weren't told what the special was until we were ready to order so no time to really consider. FF to dinner. The food. Oh the food is still so fantastic. 2 of us had steaks 2 of us Veal and one of us chicken. It was among the best food all of us have had in a long time.
Bottom line, the food here is so good it almost trumped the lack of personality shown this visit. We have had some wonderful evenings here but this was not one of them. The service was awkward and did not add anything to the experience, the atmosphere upstairs was dreadful including the staff visiting with another table behind us, while the broken silence was welcome the loud laughing of the staff member was annoying. I feel we didn't experience front the of the house on their best night, luckily the kitchen didn't disappoint. When you spend 5 figs on 5 people you kind of want the whole package.More
