Needs to be updated with some fresh paint and stuff but I will tell you the best breakfast I have ever had and the process msg is low to low they must be losing money. Go support this local place it’s a dive but delicious
Limited seating (four tables) but expected. Quick service. Onion rings were delicious. The service was quick, and their prices are low. I am returning to this restaurant!
Great Greek and Canadian comfort food. Greek salads, Gyros, Souvlaki, Burgers, and Casual fare without any frills. The food is good, the portion sizes are big, the price is right, and for those of us in the area this place is a regular stop over...many of the "fancy" places in the area.More
The Quarry is a truck stop restaurant that is a long family run family restaurant in Flamborough. Hungry truck drivers have been eating here for over 30 years.
I am a local & never drove down Hwy 5 unless I had to. Once I started working at a business almost literally across the road, I noticed it. I thought - how strange to have a restaurant there and & anyone in the parking...lot. I stopped by one night this past week because I was starved. For those of you looking for high-class dining, this isn't for you. This is a place surrounded by industry - a quarry, a few trucking companies. a recycling company - it's like a trucker's rest stop. Good food, the service was great - the two people working there never bothered me once. You can eat in peace, watch the TV, pay up & off you go feeling full. Yes, the decor is hardly fashionable - who cares when you're hungry? Service was quick - within 10 minutes or less. The place may not seem to be as impeccably clean as other diners have experienced, & the washrooms are very simple, but it's not so dirty as to be unsanitary. (I have worked in fashionable downtown Toronto bars & clubs where I have seen rats constantly outside in the garbage..didn't see any vermin at this place). Yeah, the floor tiles are cracked & could be replaced. That doesn't change the freshness of the food. (I highly doubt truckers & local workers would care about that anyway - they just want a decent meal at an affordable price). My father told me this place has been around for about 50 years - not sure as to whether these are the original owners or not. I have eaten there twice - fish & chips - never had a problem with the food, the presentation or the amount they give me. I always left full. I will be back more often as it is so close to my work that I can't resist the convenience. I recommend this restaurant for those who care more about satisfying their appetite than looking at pretty fake flowers in vases. I am hesitant to even review this place. Why? Because I want to keep the secret all to myself!More
Although the food might be adequate and prices reasonable the cleanliness of the place left me gagging. The wall all the way up to the ceiling at the table we were seated at was filthy and it wasn't something that happened recently it has been...there a long, long time. My husband had to use the washroom and upon leaving said we would never be back and he never complains but the washroom was worse than filthy. Glad I didn't have to use the ladies. And, I can only imagine how bad the kitchen must be.More
I used to frequent this place regularly seven years ago, but I moved out of province, and I am back again. I have made three trips to the Quarry recently, ordered my old faves and it was like I had never been gone. If you...are in the area and looking for a burger, skip the Wendy's at Hwy6 & 5 and head here instead. Huge burger(patty is not homemade, but I have never had one like it anywhere) fresh kaiser roll topped with what you want for under 4 bucks. Toasted western, about an inch and a half thick on normal bread(not texas toast),generous with the ham in the mix, 4.25. A BLT, with emphasis on the B! 4.25. Served up fresh, hot and fast. I have tried other items on the menu and have never been let down. An old style family run restaurant offering consistent quality food, huge portions at ridiculously low prices. A hidden gem, well worth the detour if you're heading up the 6, and a must stop if you are on the 5.More
This is a family-run restaurant on Hwy 5 that we saw on our way to African Lion Safari. We were there in the morning, and their breakfast menu has a wide selection of choices including omelettes, pancakes, French Toast, eggs, breakfast sandwiches, etc. The place...is cozy. Service was prompt and the food was hot and fresh. The portions are generous. This place is a good value. Parking is convenient even for big vehicles. There is both counter and table service. This place provides an opportunity to eat at somewhere other than a fast food chain while traveling.More
