If you're looking for something light and quick, stop into the cafe. In addition to the traditional grill cuisine (burgers, fries, fish and chips, chicken tenders, salads, etc), the cafe offers daily specials, ice cream, and delicious homemade desserts. And don't forget the scallops!
As the only other food source on the Island it was ok. Got burgers and fries to go and eat elsewhere. Bit pricey for what it is but the burgers were tasty glad I had brought with me a local NS beer to wash it...down.More
We stayed for one night on Brier Island and it was lovely. Our first stop after the ferry was The Lighthouse Cafe and it was excellent. The service was good and the food was brilliant. We had the lunch time special of fish tacos -...if it is on the menu then definitely have it. It was so nice we went back for supper for the Lasagne and garlic fingers - also brilliant. Our server was a lovely young man who was very pleasant and helpful.More
As part of our staycation we went to Westport,NS on Canada Day!
Thankfully, Lighthouse Cafe was open!
We had a cheeseburger and a massive amount of shoe string fries (can’t get any better than that). We also had a donair! It was absolutely the best...donair I have had since relocating back to NS in 2 years. The amount of donair meat was amazing! No skimping here.
The very best part of this visit was Seth! Seth has customer service and humour down to a science. Adults should take lessons from him.
He is also the local tour guide when it comes to getting to the lighthouse.More
We ate there during are visit, reasonable prices were fair and food was good,,, only thing that got to me was,, I love seafood, and I wanted seafood platter which they never had, so I asked if I could get a few scallops with my...fish and pay a bit of difference and take away 1 piece of fish,, they said I would have to order a fish and chips plus a scallop and chip dinner, which would have been crazy price. Food was ok ,, haddock bites are better than beer battered . Tony&juanita. Truro NSMore
We stopped in for a light evening meal and my husband and I ordered the scallops and fries. They were so fresh with thin batter....delicious. Having the Gift Shop across the parking lot was a nice perk. Plentiful parking spaces.
We had limited time between the ferry and the whale tour so thought we would make due with a quick bite; we were pleasantly surprised at the selections available as well as the quality of the food in this cafe, Well done!
A small, clean, fast food café right across from the ferry. Just a short walk to the whale watching wharf. Service was fast, portions plentiful, but a little greasy. Prices were very reasonable given that this is a location with a captive audience. We did...not feel like we were being gouged.
Washrooms were cross the parking lot at the gift shop, and there is ample free parking.More
