Ordered delivery as an alternative to Swiss Chalet. The Chicken was tasty, the gravey and sauces that came with chicken tenders we added on with the family meal was good. However, the fries are similar to frozen crinkle cut ones from the supermarket. That will...likely prevent us from ordering again.More

Other than the one time I ordered a spicy wrap and it wasn't very spicy, I've not been disappointed with the food they serve. The chicken is tasty and moist, the serving sizes are generous and the meals are served quickly. The restaurant is clean

The food is good. There is NOTHING WRONG with the food they serve. It is a "stop and go" type of concept. AN (Express restaurant) which is not a negative point. There is nothing to complain about that location. We all know that all our...opinions are based on personal taste and experience. Every time I've visited this location, I've been served professionally. The Staff was polite and friendly. So if you are looking for a long seating period with table service, that will not be the place for you. But if you are on a " time clock schedule" and you want eat a good and quick meal, well, this place may fits your needs.More

This is a restaurant that's trying to be the equivalent of a McDonald's equivalent in the chicken business but without much success. While McDonald's decently organized so that you know how to go about ordering your food, when you first enter Benny, you're not quite...sure if this is fast food ordering at the counter or sit-down ordering with a server. (It's the former.) With the help of a server, we were directed to the ordering counter. However unlike McDonald's where the "menu" is relatively clear, Bennys' menu was quite confusing. There was a photo of a chicken leg on the "order board overhead but for how many legs? "I'll have two legs please." "Will that be the meal or single legs?" "The meal please." "Do you want to include the salad bar?" "Uh.... (as I glanced over to what looked like what might be the salad bar although it was kind of small-looking for being a salad bar) ...yes please." "Do you have any Coke Zero?" I asked. (It wasn't obvious from the order board that they served soda fountain drinks.) "Yes we do", replied the server, pointing to the newer drink dispenser over by the salad bar. Ma Belle femme ordered the single leg. Again our server wanted to know if she wanted the leg dinner and again if she wanted the salad bar. (It was a "yes" to both questions.) "Do you have club soda?",asked MA femme. "We have (whatever brand of high-priced of sparkling water." "Does your soda fountain have club soda?", I asked. (Not quite sure was the response. So MA Belle femme ordered the high-priced fizzy water.) "That'll be $45.71 please." After doing a double-take for what we had ordered and trying to verify prices from the menu board, I paid the bill which I thought was a bit steep for a counter service as I usually pay the same at Swiss Chalet or St Hubert. "You're order will be delivered to your table" as we were given a gizmo-like beacon of some kind to place on our table so that a server could find us with our meal. We were given 2 trays and 2 salad plates with the greeting that we could go to the salad bar as many times as we wanted. As we approached approached the salad bar I said "Oh good. A salad bar." One customer at the salad bar grumpy mumbled "...what serves as a salad bar!" She was right! Tiny trays that would be empty after 2 or 3 healthy heaping of a very limited number of selections. So I put on a couple of spoonfuls of Cole slaw, some potato salad and a corn relish. Ma belle femme did similar and we ambled our way over to a booth past the McDonald's-like sreel chair clusters with the hard seats that were concrete into the floor. We sat down and dug into our "salad bar" selections. St Hubert creamy cole slaw this was not. Potato salad a bit runny. Corn relish ... maybe okay on a hamburger ... but ...I almost forgot ... this was a chicken place. Salad bar finished, we waited for the delivery of our meal. After what seemed like an interminable time, our meals arrived ..on 2 trays. Only one problem. We already had 2 trays on our table with our salad plates so definitely not enough room for 2 more trays. After some shuffling, I moved our salad trays to one side so that our meal trays could be set down. We were now ready to dig into what I thought would be 2 nice tender and juicy chicken legs with hot french fries. Did I just say tender and juicy?? Did I just say hot?? Where did I get those adjectives? I must have been dreaming. The chicken legs. Tender they were not.juicy they were not. Hot they were not. Dry. Over-cooked. Shriveled skin that was hard to strip off the leg (I don't eat chicken skin). Fries that were luke warm at best. Definitely not St Hubert juicy where the meat falls apart at the touch of your fork. All of which to say Bennys needs to rethink their approach to serving chicken and ...more importantly ... their customers. If they're trying to be the McDonald's of chicken, they aren't succeeding. If they're trying to be a Swiss Chalet or a St Hubert, with prices like theirs, the "quality" of their food, and their service layout, they're definitely not succeeding.More

It was bad right from the moment we walked in. Almost nobody there and that includes the staff! Amazingly there was no one behind the counter for many minutes - it was like the staff had given up and gone home...Finally a woman poked her...head around the corner to let us know she'd be with us soon... Turns out this poor staff member is way overtasked. She was prepping meals for both Uber Eats and Skip the dishes, plus clearing tables, serving dinners and taking orders. But staff issues aside, we won't be back. Benny's has terrible food. I ordered a leg meal which came with a serve yourself salad and soup. The salad was a teeny tiny little salad bar covered up with a huge door similar to the kind of freezers you see in a convenience store. The salad fixings were in tiny little plastic trays - and they were almost all empty. I can't imagine what they'd do if there was more than two people in the place - two salads and it'd be empty! The soup was a little better - actual chicken in it but very very salty. My Leg meal was very bad. The sauce is horrible - it tastes like a spicy tomato soup. Yuck. The french fries taste very, very similar to Mccain frozen crinkle cut fries. They are very cardboard-like tasting - not like potatoes at all. The chicken was very overdone. Dry, dry, dry. Coleslaw was fresh but very bland. The bun was the top half of a hamburger bun (my husband got the bottom!). So stay away from Benny's - It's no where near the quality of a Swiss Chalet...More

First time visiting this Restaurant. Was curious and stopped in with family. We are frequent diners at both Swiss Chalet and St Hubert’s so were expecting the same in terms of food and service. First difference is the “McDonald’s” feel of the restaurant. Very simple...fast food decor. You go up to a cash station to order your food. You pay, find a seat and your food is delivered to you on a tray. You get your own soft drink from a soda fountain machine. You can buy wine by the 1/2 litre bottle or beer. When you are finished you deliver your tray and dirty dishes to a cafeteria type rack. We found the food menu and the quality of the food very similar to Swiss Chalet or St Hubert’s. We found the price of the food comparable to the previous referenced restaurants. In our mind the prices should be lower as we are sitting in a fast food restaurant and not a full service restaurant. All in all we are glad we went however will probably not return. We will stick to Swiss Chalet or St Hubert’s where you are getting better value and nicer surroundings for your money.More

I ordered the chicken wrap ....I thought it was a bit overpriced, and it arrived refrigerator -cold .... I contend if it had been freshly made, at least the wrap would have been at room temperature. The accompanying crinkle fries tasted like those you bake...at home and the cole slaw was tasteless.More

Took our grandson for his birthday supper. He gets to choose where he wants to go. Servings are very big. Service was good and they bring food to your table once you place your order. Also have take out which seemed quite popular. Meal was...special that day and came with soup and salad bar. Typical chain type chicken restaurant. No complaints.More

Was at the Benny in Gatineau Montée Paiement. All I was hungry for was a nice soup and salad since it was lunch time. To my complete disappointment the chicken rice soup tasted like water and I had to struggled to find chicken and rice....The salad bar was the worst I had seen, not fresh . Had gone at another location for dinner before a couple of times and loved my chicken and fries.More

We have ordered and picked up chicken from this restaurant several times in the past two months. We always get the chicken with fries and sometimes with some cheese to go with the fries. This comes unassembled so you can choose how much gravy how...much cheese and how much fries you want to put together. I think this is a good way to do it. the chicken is always very tasty and perfectly cooked. The service is fast and I think the price is reasonable. This is a good restaurant, particularly for a family meal.More
