We visited the restaurant twice for dinner. We were lucky to find a table for two because almost all the tables were reserved. The environment was very atmospheric with medieval touch. Service was perfect and the waitors very kind and quick. The first time we took a meat platter for two (it was huge), four large beers and one extra... More

We used to go there for a lunch with my colleagues. I usually give a restaurant more chances after bad experience. I gave this restaurant more than 5 chances, but the staff is always soooo rude and unprofessional, that no more chances from me will follow ever... The food is somethimes quite good, but nothing stunning, and somethimes really bad.... More

You must eat at that restaurant if you enjoy vension. We had deer ( I asked for the cranberry sauce to be separate ) and duck legs & a bottle of red winde and quite enjoyed it. I think the prices were ok, it all costed appx. 980 czk.

Loved this restaurant, great atmosphere and brilliant service. We opted for the goulash, one beef and one deer (on the advice of the waiter). He was right, delicious and so much food.......and cheap at £20 with beer!!!!

Very big portions and reasonable pricing! Hearty meal with lots of meat dishes. Has a good variety of cuisine from old Czech to Czech to usual beef steaks. The duck was very good but beef goulash so and so. Soup was fantastic too. Worth a trip for the ambience and food.

Tasty hearty food in this medieval setting. The garlic soup was very tasty and we the tackled the Czech platter, which was huge and every item was also very tasty. Very nice and you won't leave hungry!

Don't order a starter as they usually bring out a pot of dripping and some bread. Portions are generous, great for hearty appetites. The hot wine comes in a very large mug and has quite a kick. Prices are very good and we always have this restaurant at the top of our list every time we visit Prague.

Very poor service quality and attitude of waiters It was unfortunate for us to end up in this restaurant as we were shopping on busy streets and at the end of the line we got hungry and decided to eat at the first place that we saw. The place is off the busy central area and perhaps that`s the reason... More

On our last trip in Prague we discovered this restaurant and loved the food there. You can dine in the old vaulted cellar and enjoy Bohemian food for a very good price. The service is fast and the waiters are friendly and helpful, even if the U Sadlu has a lot of customers (we had dinner on the evening of... More

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
