The people here does not understand English well and because of this, it'll be quite hard for you to inquire the type of food available. The taste of the food is average but very much affordable compared to other cafes and restaurant. If you would like to experience a local dining experience, this will be a good place

Good place to sit people watch. Good service but food was average at best. Bread was dry. Meat was dry and overcooked.

In my previous review I recommended this no-frills restaurant for the quality of its food and friendly staff. Now they added a new grill department to the main place. Here you get mostly Czech specialities, abou 20% higher in price, but also in a higher class. The prices are low anyway - Prague ham with mashed potatoes and veggies for... More

My grandma told me that this had been one of the best restaurants when she was young. So I wanted to try and it reminded me the oldschool dining room at my basic school. So classic meals which I havent eaten for years. I tried dill sauce with a boiled egg which was quite bad. Nice athmosphere of the good... More

The restaurant is located on the 5th floor of a department store Bila Labut (White Swan) near the center. The food in a self-service style at the counter is REALLY good and the portions are enormous for the price. A dish with soft drink or beer average from 4 to 7 dollars ! Don't buy it, right? Our family is... More

This is a local eatery that serves a set menu of meals canteen style. Great value for money and authentic local meals. Soft drinks were expensive, get a beer instead, it is cheaper :-)

If you expect a solid, good, almost homemade food, this is you place. The atmosphere reminds us of a clean railroad restaurant in a a positive sense of this word. It is a self-service place, opened also on weekends with a large selection of beer and non-alcoholic beverages and a daily renewed selection of typical Czech cuisine. The average price... More

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
