This is a huge brewery pub/restaurant and can be a little intimidating when you first enter, but once seated it all makes sense and your order is quickly taken. The food is basic but good and the beer excellent. It’s also worth exploring upstairs (beer shop) and in the other parts of the hall to appreciate the place. Tip, standing... More

Like many restaurants in Prague, you come in and can go deeper en deeper in (and down). We were with a group of 12, so they let us in the deepest part, where we could be on our own. That was a bit a pity on one side, because we missed a bit the cosiness of other guests, but on... More

Thanks to those of you on TripAdvisor who recommended this great place. We ate there today and wow, the food was great. I had the wild boar, potatoes pancakes and spinach which was soooooo tasty my husband had food envy. The other half ordered the deer leg and potatoe croquetes with red currant sauce, a little sweet for me but... More

We were passing this restaurant and menu sounded quite nice so we decided to pop in. We did not have a reservation but we were lucky to get one table in the non-smoking section. We tried the deer, wild boar and one veggie option, all were good, arrived very quickly and were tasty. Prices were reasonable. The restaurant was quite... More

Place is simple. Prices are reasonable. Food is ok and the beer is quite good! The dark draft one especially.

In existence since the 15th Century as evidenced by the vaulted ceilings. Huge. No smoking at the back. Efficient service. Mostly locals both times we were there which is good. The one, the only, the original Budweiser on tap not the American version--which is very good. The best Greek salad we have ever tasted even in Greece--so crisp, so fresh--and... More

Walked in on Saturday night, no reservation but only had to wait 15 minutes. Quickly served, nice food, servers very attentive. Just remember that smoking is allowed.

On my very first day in Prague, I wandered around with no real knowledge of anything. I happened upon U Medvidku when I got thoroughly lost. I walked in and the atmosphere was kind of a cross between a hunting lodge and a cafeteria, it was warm and inviting. I ordered my meal, which was a tasty piece of venison... More

Unfortunately we had a terrible experience in this place. We went there after reading good reviews but I really don't know what people found in this restaurant. As soon as we stepped in we couldn't avoid noticing the cigarette smell - yes you can smoke inside! The place is a brewery but they only have 2 beers on tap which... More

The place was suggested to me by a friend from Prague and we really loved it. We arrived without a reservation and there were people waiting but they found us a place in no time in the non-smoking section. The place is huge, it's the oldest brewery in Prague and it shows; gorgeous. The staff was very friendly and efficient.... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
