Did some beer tasting here (very good) and enjoyed a delicious lunch. Staff is friendly, attentive and fast. Stake and Spareribs are recommended. It can be buzzy here, for a group it’s smart to make a reservation.

One of the highlights in the history of brewing. A wonderful location, perfectly situated next to the Church and the Library complex of the Strahov Monastery. There's a large choice of Czech food on the menu and ample seating arrangements. The service is attentive and the prices reasonable. The brewery is must when visiting the complex.

The ambience and quality of the beer in this monastic brewery made it a memorable experience after a couple of hours touring the Prague castle. Highly recommended. In our group of 5, we tried all the 5 offerings on the menu. Each one of them was excellent in taste. Despite the inclement weather, we sat outside with the cover and... More

We crossed the Charles Bridge and had a steep uphill walk to reach this brewery and restaurant near Prague Castle. It began to rain heavily just as we arrived so we sat inside. The beer was good, the food was traditional Czech -heavy but tasty- and the restaurant's interior certainly gave the feel of a former monastery dating back to... More

Hidden in a small backyard just around the corner of our hotel was this little gem. The perfect place to finish off an afternoon of activities downtown. After a well deserved, cold and tasty beer we got a short tour around the brewery. Very interesting to see how our drinks were brewed on site, all explained by our knowledgeable guide.... More

Been in Prague for 4 days before visiting the castle area. Went for a beer and something to eat at the brewery. We did not like the beer and the food was just average. Had tried all sorts of beer during the week here but these just tasted strange to us. Would not go back. There are other places in... More

Turned up for a drink and a quick bite to eat after half a day strolling around Prague. Lovely location by the monastery and we enjoyed the beer. Unfortunately it was let down by the service. The staff need some training in the art of making people feel welcome. We asked for a portion of fries to go with our... More

Overlooking the historical monastery. This place offers fine dininig as well as home made beers which we found to be the best we had in Prague. The onion soup was great and the pork ribes were also quite good. (2 soups 4 beers french fries and pork ribs = 830 czh).

Cozy traditional atmosphere, nothing fancy, but the beer and goulash were the best I had in Prague. Also has a great view outside the restaurant of all of Prague.

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighbourhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
