This is exactly the place where you come if you want to avoid expensive tourist traps. It's local, cheap, food tastes excellent and the service was great. Ps. Pick the roasted pork knuckle to share with 2-3 friends.

Remarkable for being unremarkable and utterly reliable. Separate smoking and non smoking areas - unusual for this kind of authentic Prague cellar joints. Apparently one of the oldest of the post-communist crop of such speakeasy boozers to survive. chill Risotto is tremendous as are most of the Czech dishes. Great value and a must for a bit of unpretentious authenticity.... More

We came here for dinner at 9 PM. The service was really good, very attentive and helpful with the selections. The food was also really good. We had a Mexican chicken and mushroom beef.

It's a typical Czech pub, not really wonderfully up-to-date furnished... but for the purpose of a very good typical Czech dinner, with quality food at an honest price, it's one of the best in Prague!

Food was amazing! Fresh ingredients huge portions for what you paid. Friendly staff and they spoke English well too! You could very easily split 1 meal with 2 people. My husband and I split the dessert and we still couldn't finish it. There were items on the menu that kids would like, but it was just the two of us... More

Big portions, I couldn't eat all meal which I ordered. Beer was not very tasty. Stuff are friendly and helpful. For me the big minus that inside is very smoky and bad ventilation.

This is a good restaurant to taste czech food, with fair prices and typical local cuisine. It has a small sign and is located in a basement, so you have to pay attention to find it. Excellent service.

Rained poured down and we were waiting for our Airbnb host so great opportunity to enjoy this local and stay dry! Patrick the waiter was so helpful and friendly, straight onto the internet so we could make contact with our host. My husband enjoyed a couple of beers and then we shared a plate of croquettes...yum. Thanks for helping us... More

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
