This place has a good ambiance with reasonably priced good wine in a good location, close to Ujezd tram stop. The owners are friendly and the shop has some interesting products that may be hard to find in other places.

Los optimisticos is a small tapas bar in the Malastranska district. The place is very small, only 6 tables available but they have a good selection of wines. The tapas menu doesn't offer a big selection of dishes - they are mainly small dishes to combine with a good glass of wine. The 4 star are for the wine list... More

I just spent a lovely evening in los optimisticos with my beautiful girlfriend. It's quiet, charming, food is good and you'd be surpised how good the Czech wine is... The waiter (owner?) will recommend something good in case you asked... Enjoy!

On a recent visit to prague while staying in the Mala Strana area we came across Los Optimisticos, a Spanish Tapas Bar. After dining out on Czech cuisine, described in one guide as a cardioligist's nightmare, it was a very pleasant experience to eat in this unprepossessing yet excellent tapas bar. Los Optimisticos had only just opened when we were... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
