This restaurant is a part of the Castle area, therefore tends to be very busy, particularly during the official visiting times of the place. It is an old historical pub with literary quotations, However, for all these reasons, it is more expensive.

Place known from literature and where some kings and presidents used to hide from their bodyguards with excellent beer from deep cellars and good kitchen

I was really satisfied with the service. The food was OK, but you wont blow your mind, one thing worth to mention: the Bill, i didnt think that this will be so high. All together i can give it a 4/5

Very nice roast duck and red cabbage, not crazy about what they call potato gnocchi. Good service, old historic building.

The food in this place was not bad if you consider that is a restaurant located inside the Prague castle and is working only with tourists that will go here once and never come back...... But tacking advantage of tourists and CHEATING on prices and bill is not funny........... After our lunch we asked for the bill that was made... More

The restaurant is really nice, it has a good atmosphere, the service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. The food was great we chose different main dishes and can say that the steak, the lamb and the bream are all excellent. The Czech wines and beers that they offer are excellent accompaniments, and the starters and desserts were... More

Initially we were concerned this would be a tourist restaurant but it didn't seem to be. Service was excellent, no question there. Food was fine but it wasn't the best we had in Prague or the Czech Republic as a whole. The best part would be the proximity to the castle, which is helpful give the castle is a very... More

The rastaurant is convenient located next to the cathedral. We had a 3 plate menu. The prise for the touristic menu was low. The soup was delicious and perfect after a day outside in the cold. We had pork which was well cooked and very tasty. The salad was ok and for desert we had creme brulee -not so good.... More

Restaurant is proximate to Cathedral, at the very beginning of touristik trekking to old city. Mostly I'm skeptical to central food places. This was really delicious starting from soup to main course. Enjoy

We ate here during our visit to prague castle. The restaurant building itself has interesting historical connections with astronomers Kepler and Tycho Brae. Service was good (although there were not many customers at the time we ate). Food was good hearty Czech Cuisine. Bill for two people (starter, main and bottle of beer) came to just under 1000CzK.

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighbourhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
