Unfortunatelly I had to return two plates- the goulash had really hard meat and the "halusky" were floating in fat and cream. No taste at all. Also pretty bad was the wild bore. I think this place really needs to fire the chef and get someone much better. What was very positive apart from the good beer were the waiters.... More

Excellent Goulash, and cheap and tasty beer. Go for the beer they brew in house, can't remember the name of it!

Ate here twice in our short stay in Prague because it is the real deal. First I tried beef with two types of dumpling, gravy and a cranberry like sauce. Yummy! second time I ate a Czech version of gnocchi with sheep's cheese, wonderful! Very friendly and busy pub like setting.

first advice it is necessary to book a table, expecially during the week end. Beer and food are the best. you can find all the traditional dishes. Main dishes cost about 15 euro. second advice: having pork knee or roasted duck third advice: having dark beer (Kozel)

Saw the ratings on Trip Advisor and can only agree that this is a great place to eat if you want some authentic Czech food. I had the wild boar neck with dumplings and red cabbage - very tender meat and really tasty cabbage. My wife went for fallow deer in a red wine sauce with potato rosti - again... More

Delicious Haxn, nicely presented, with homemade cucumber, mustard, sauerkraut and horseradish, finest potato salad. Side dishes come in small bowls, main dishes are big in size. Super quick and friendly service. Menus available in multiple languages including German, Russian and Chinese. Also the waiters speak many languages and are among the most friendly, quick serving and nicest staff I ever... More

Very nice restaurant. We had lamb shanks, pork knees and goulash in our group - all were excellent but I'd recommend sharing a pork knee unless you've got a huge appetite - they were massive! Beers were great and service was very good. It was busy when we went on a Thursday night and we were lucky to get a... More

Chose this from reviews here and glad we did. It was close to our hotel so we called in to reserve a table (Saturday night). Glad we did as there were people waiting but our table was ready with our name on. Service was efficient and friendly. Never any need to attract waiters attention as they were very attentive. Starters... More

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
