We had breakfast there on a Sunday morning and were a bit disappointed. The breakfast options were pretty basic, the taste was okay but nothing special, no special coffee options or anything and the place was kinda noisy and not very cosy because it's just a big hall. Cafe Savoy was a bit better, but we really liked cafe Lounge... More

We had dinner at Cafe Louvre in the hope of getting a taste of traditional Czech cuisine and we weren't disappointed. The restaurant interior was wonderfully stylish and the staff very warm. The food was precisely what we wanted – fluffy dumplings, beautifully braised meats and rich sauce. And the apple strudel was lovely too! This was not fine dining,... More

If you want to tell anybody you have been in Prague, then this is the place you have to visit. It is a must. It is just old style café. Some relicts of the same style are still visible at places called Vienna, Budapest, Paris or Zurich. But hurry, this is the old world...fading away. It is not easy not... More

Great restaurant and pretty cheap despite its fancy appearance. I had a fanstastic gnucci with salmon, and my wife had an avocado salad and enjoyed every bite. Plus, their hot chocolate is amazing!

Loved the decor and the atmosphere in the cafe Louvre. The desserts were delicious and very reasonably priced. It was a real treat to sit and relax in this very elegant cafe! Short waiting time with friendly staff and great service!

Beyond the modest entrance this cafe expands into a high ceilinged, turn of the century venue. There is plenty of space, many locals eat here and the menu, though not large, is varied. Families, a man sitting reading a book, groups of young people: a mixed clientele in a relaxed atmosphere. It is called a cafe but part of the... More

Charming café close to the city centre. Extremely popular, a little bit noisy but the atmosphere is great. My husband ate a huge chocolate cake..and it was something one can die for!

Dessert is excellent especially their best-seller louvre sundae. The interior design was elegant and I was happy to know that famous icons were visiting this cafe before like Albert Einstein and Franz Kafka. Nice to know that this cafe opened in 1902.

Didn't rate the food, but the decor is great and delicious mulled wine. The place was really busy but great service so didn't have to wait for too long to get seated or served.

Quite a nice cafe with traditional Czech food. The decor is beautiful and staff are quite attentive. I read that you just choose your seat and will be served but I saw someone being shown to a table. Maybe they had a big group or something? We didn't get any attention standing at the entrance so we just looked for... More

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
