Starka is the number 1 restaurant in Opole and deservedly so for its friendly, attentive and sometimes humorous, service, its food, its location in town overlooking the river and its ambience. I live in Opole and have visited Starka many times over the years, taking...More

We stayed in Krakow for 4 nights in June and this was the best restaurant we had dinner in. Advisable to book ahead and if there is live music request a table towards the back.

Nice selection of typical gastronomy. The starters were specially tasty, with the salmon dumplings and fried mushrooms. The main dish was also tasty, but missing that extra mile in taste to be excellent. Efficient and friendly service.

Great service, pleasant and elegant waiters, amazing food- especially the duck, the red cabbage and the apfelstrudel. Also the wiener schnitzel looked delicious. Nice ambiance, good lighting.

Lovely food with lots of polish food choices. Service was very slow. We had to ask them for menus, to take our starter, main and dessert choice and constantly through the night asking them for extra drinks. Staff are very polite though. Lovely position on...More

Our restaurant is located in an old-style boutique appartment building, just next to the river Odra, just a stones thorw from the town square (distance 250 m).The restaurant consists of three rooms. The first room is set in the ‘country style’ of an old Bavarian hut featuring antique dark-wood furniture. With lots of charming local bric-a-brac lying around giving off a simple country air, this room comfortably seats up to 40 guests with 9 tables to choose from as well as 6 places at the bar.For those of you who prefer a more elegant and private setting, we recommend the ‘Banquet Room’. Here the furnishings are based on neo-modern designs from the early 20th century, otherwise known as the ‘interwar period’. The trraditional white tablecloths, old family photos on white walls, and elegant period furniture create a cosy atmosphere, somewhat reminiscent of an old grandmother’s dinning room. Incidentally ‘Starka’, our restaurants name, is actually an affectionate word for grandmother in Silesian, a dialect of the Polish Language.
