I would eat here every day if I lived in Budapest :) Service is great and the open face sandwiches are amazing, so tasty and varied. They have a huge selection to choose from. My friend and I enjoyed every bite. Definitely visiting this place whenever I am in Budapest.

Wow. This place is amazing. Their open faced sandwiches are only made of the freshest ingredients and the bread is soooo good! I happened to go to this place of delicacy in 2009 and 2010 respectively and am only now finding it online. The tastes are still running through my brain. The fish eggs are so good! I cannot wait... great place to have a quick cheap lunch. There are trays of open sandwiches with things lie prawns, sardine, egg, pastrami on them. Beautifully presented and all less than a pound. Homemade Lemonade really nice too. There are a few tables outside and some in. The place was full of locals and so must be good! Also spotlessly clean

I went to Duran Szendvics (Sandwiches) on the 3rd day of a 6-day trip. I went back two more times! There are several locations, but I went to the one of the small restaurants near Szabadzag ter. All the sandwiches that I tried were premade, open-faced sandwiches, but I believe I saw some locals order some sandwiches that were not... More

What a little gem this is. Open sandwiches and big slices of freshly made pizza served by the most friendly people in Budapest and sooo reasonably priced.

Well, some may pass this little place by, 'cause its not "trendy" by the looks. But don't make that mistake: fresh little sandwiches in a good variety, at an amazing price! Its in the middle of the city, where prices are so much higher than this. You can sit down inside, although the decor is not really "now", but the... More

Duran makes typical Hungarian sandwiches at a very reasonable price. They have over 25 kinds though all may not be available . No tables are present so you have to stand up to eat.

We just happened to be passing and saw the vast selection of open sandwiches in the window. We were looking for a little snack and this was perfect. Something genuinely original (for us), top quality, well presented. A perfect snack to keep us going until dinner...... The lady speaks English and is very welcoming.

District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
