We saw reviews about this place and were willing to have Hungarian food. Negative reviews were about “not smiling” service, but we are used to this. When we arrived restaurant was empty and when I opened door it slipped away from my hand and as...More

Quiet, with the feel of a country restaurant, but in the middle of Budapest. The main course was excellent; traditional Hungarian food. The beef fillet stroganoff with sour cream and pickles was rich, but superb. Tables a reasonable distance apart. Did not feel overly commercial....More

Visiting Voros Postakocsi is like going to grandma's house for dinner, and having it catered by a Michelin Chef. The food, service, and ambiance are all superior, but not haughty. I had the steak and foie gras Budapest with red cabbage as a side. It...More

A middle restaurant in a tourist aerea, nothing special. Usual hungarian kitchen, swimming in sauces with cream. The meat is good quality but they kill the taste with sauces. Normal prices . The house wine is not soo good. Service quite ok. On Saturday there...More

More like a traditional Hungarian restaurant rather than just for the tourists. It has a 1940's feel to the place. Musical trio (when we were there) adds to the atmosphere.

This place is spotless and the decor is very nice. We found the traditional Hungarian dishs we tried wonderful and the salads we just great, too. The only thing that left anything to be desired was the eggplant casserole! It has a thick layer of...More

"Red Mail Coach" - "Voros Postakocsi" is traditional Budapest restaurant. It cannot be said, that the Voros Postakocsi Restaurant in Raday Street really stands out from the others, but anyone looking for a Hungarian culinary experience shouldn't pass it by. Originally opened in the early seventies, this traditional fully licensed restaurant, specializing in authentic Hungarian dishes, has been a firm favourite for over three decades, serving authentic, well-cooked and reasonably priced food to its predominantly local Clientele. The restaurant offers a wide range of carefully selected meals from authentic and modern Hungarian cuisine. Traditionally heavy dishes are rendered light, courtesy of organic meat, dairy products and vegetables. The menu offers several vegetarian options. We formed the Red Mail Coach Restaurant's Menu around the Foie Gras and other Hungarian specialities. The restaurant's wide selection of modern Hungarian wines is a treat for all. The Red Mail Coach Restaurant offers more than 70 kinds of bottled wine, half of which is also available by glass at very attractive prices.
