It is a rare place we have been frequented for decades... but always the same quality!. Excellent home cakes and eis creams. You can order special, occasional cakes. Every taste can find the best products...

Nice place to sit in or take some cake. Coffee is perfect, I only missed a glass of water. Kind and smiling service! Try it

This place has a history. Its predecessor is now called Europa cafe, but it was nationalized in the 1950s. Thee family of the original owner, as a compensation, received this tiny place. The ice cream and cakes should be tasted, the quality is very good.

If you are close to the Parliament and you need a small coffee+cake break, Szalai is a good choice. Nothing special the decor, looks like a small, traditional, hungarian cafe. We had a chocolate cake and a fresh cherry strudel, coffee and tea. Go for it!

It is small place with coffee and cakes. There are also Hungarian cakes which is quite good and we also order cappuccino which was really good. I can recommend for a quick break in sightseeing to drink coffee.

This place is mentioned in some guides as not to be missed, so we went. But the variety of cakes (its strong point, according to the guide) is very limited, and what we have tried was disappointing. The woman serving you is as lively and outgoing and empathic as a mannequin, or a dummy, the old man cannot - or... More

This coffee cafe was perfect for a Sunday morning on the way to the airport breakfast. We had the cherry strudel, some cheesy biscuits and light as air croissants. Delicious!

5th visit to Budapest, 3rd to this cake shop .... they have a lot of different cakes and they are all pretty decent. Nice tea and coffee too. Make sure you double check your bill, there might be errors if you are a lot of people ordering a lot of cake. Great breakfast spot when you visit the Budapest parliament.... More
