Although we didn't have a reservation, we managed to get a table here (recommend arriving early if you don't have a reservation) and enjoyed two courses - both very good, there was a good dessert selection and a good choice of wine by the glass. The service here is also the best we experienced on our trip.

The last time I had an Italian dinner this amazing was in Italy. The food here was phenomenal! There was six of us and we all left extremely happy - PLUS, I was lucky enough to taste everyone's dish =) Apps: Eggplant/Shrimp parmigiano special. The moment I tried this it was like an explosion of flavor. SO good! Tomato soup:... More

We stumbled across this place after visiting the baths. The ambiance, decor and feel was so ornate and lovely. The service was great and my stone bakes pizza was perfect. I had the Bianca pizza with some extra chilli and absolutely loved it. Very impressed, definitely visit.

Went in here as it was conveniently situated near our hotel and we didn't fancy anything on the hotel menu. We arrived late after a delayed flight so didn't want to travel too far and wanted something simple and quick. The service was decent but the food was not very tasty. I had tuna steak that was tasteless and my... More

Excellent service and food made the overall experience wonderful and we can't wait to return. I couldn't find the exact pizza I wanted on the menu so they through together what I wanted. No skimping on the ingredients either. The hot sauce mixture that they gave me to add as needed was spicy and tasty. Don't add too much unless... More

Customer service was excellent. The server was very kind and warm. We came in wanting to eat carbonara and he recommended a great wine to pair with our meal. The fresh pasta was amazing with a good bite. The bacon was excellent. What was disappointing though was the sauce. It was a little too salty which was let down. It... More

Our first night in Budapest and we walked by this restaurant. We shared salad and pizza, and each had a beer. Since the restaurant was full inside we ate outside. They had blankets to ward off the chill. It was nice!

I've visited Da Mario a few times over the past years. If the weather is good enough to sit outside, the view on the Parliament is superb. The food quality is good but I've noticed a deterioration; service is also a bit erratic. The portions seem to be getting smaller too. I hope management will lift their business back to... More

Genuine good value Italian food enjoyed in a cosy and chick atmosphere in a nice neighbourhood close to the Donau river. The service was immediate and genuine. The wine collection was broad and of good value. Definitely a restaurant to visit when you want something extra and Italian!

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
